Coordination chemistry, as we know it today, has been shaped by major figures from the past, one of whom was Joseph Chatt. Beginning with a description of Chatt's career presented by co-workers, contemporaries and students, this fascinating book then goes on to show how many of today's leading practitioners in the field, working in such diverse areas as phosphines, hydrogen complexes, transition metal complexes and nitrogen fixation, have been influenced by Chatt. The reader is then brought right up-to-date with the inclusion of some of the latest research on these topics, all of which serves to underline Chatt's continuing legacy. Intended as a permanent record of Chatt's life, work and influence, this book will be of interest to lecturers, graduate students, researchers and science historians.

An Introduction To Nonlinear Viscoelasticity Of Filled Rubber written by Jacopo Ciambella and has been published by Sapienza Università Editrice this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Theoretical Astrophysics Volume 2 Stars And Stellar Systems written by T. Padmanabhan and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000 with Medical categories.

This authoritative textbook - the second volume of a comprehensive three-volume course on theoretical astrophysics - deals with stellar physics. Designed to help graduate students and researchers develop an understanding of the key physical processes governing stars and stellar systems, it teaches the fundamentals, and then builds on them to give the reader an in-depth understanding of advanced topics. The book's modular design allows the chapters to be approached individually, yet seamless transitions create a coherent and connected whole. It can be used alone or in conjunction with Volume I, which covers a wide range of astrophysical processes, and the forthcoming Volume III, on galaxies and cosmology. After reviewing the key observational results and nomenclature used in stellar astronomy, the book develops a solid understanding of central concepts including stellar structure and evolution, the physics of stellar remnants, pulsars, binary stars, the sun and planetary systems, interstellar medium and globular clusters. Throughout, the reader's comprehension is developed and tested with more than seventy-five exercises. This indispensable volume provides graduate students with a self-contained introduction to stellar physics, and will allow them to master the material sufficiently to read and engage in research with heightened understanding.

Multimedia Storytelling for Digital Communicators in a Multiplatform World is a unique guide for all students who need to master visual communication through multiple media and platforms. Every communication field now requires students to be fluent in visual storytelling skill sets, and as the present-day media adapt to a multiplatform world (with ever-increasing delivery systems from desktops to cell phones), students specializing in different forms of communication are discovering the power of merging new multimedia technology with very old and deep-rooted storytelling concepts. Award-winning journalist and multimedia professor Seth Gitner provides students with the tools for successfully realizing this merger, from understanding conflict, characters, and plot development to conducting successful interviews, editing video in post-production, and even sourcing royalty-free music and sound effects. Incorporating how-to’s on everything from website and social media optimization to screenwriting, Multimedia Storytelling aims to be a resource for any student who needs to think and create visually, in fields across broadcast and digital journalism, film, photography, advertising, and public relations. The book also includes a range of supplemental material, including wide-ranging skills exercises for each chapter, interviews with seasoned professionals, key terms, and review questions.

The Gravitational Million Body Problem written by Douglas Heggie and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-01-23 with Science categories.

The globular star clusters of the Milky Way contain hundreds of thousands of stars held together by gravitational interactions, and date from the time when the Milky Way was forming. This 2003 text describes the theory astronomers need for studying globular star clusters. The gravitational million-body problem is an idealised model for understanding the dynamics of a cluster with a million stars. After introducing the million-body problem from various view-points, the book systematically develops the tools needed for studying the million-body problems in nature, and introduces the most important theoretical models. Including a comprehensive treatment of few-body interactions, and developing an intuitive but quantitative understanding of the three-body problem, the book introduces numerical methods, relevant software, and current problems. Suitable for graduate students and researchers in astrophysics and astronomy, this text also has important applications in the fields of theoretical physics, computational science and mathematics.
