After constitutes a photographic project on how art affects our perception of reality. Visually expanding on the art world's tendency to see the world through the prism of modern and contemporary art, the book depicts some 200 images of found or researched situations taken “after” an artist's work – occupied realities that are, one might say, signed by the artists. After Buren, After Baldessari, After Cézanne, After Warhol, After Bruce Nauman, etc. In this project, the editors “were looking for references, for signs evoking the history of art. And sometimes the opposite: we would take a photo that reminded us of a certain artist. We had fun following that mode for a while, and then, following our conversations, the project became more defined...” The title suggests both “after” a specific artist, Edouard Manet or Dan Flavin, and “in the characteristic manner of”: “It's about showing how our view of the world, our experience of the world, is informed, enriched, sharpened, disturbed, influenced by every work of art that lies in our memory.” After then becomes a veritable archive of the editors' recollection of exhibits, art reviews and catalogues. Non-hierarchical, the objects and situations depicted evoke what Raymond Hains once called “personified abstractions”—Buren's stripes, Niele Toroni's imprints or Carl Andre's sculptures, in whatever form they may be reproduced, will inevitably bring them back to mind. This full-color illustrated book has been designed by Christophe Brunnquell. It has been co-published by the Villa Arson, Nice, and accompanies the same-titled exhibition. Jean-Max Colard is a Paris-based curator, an art critic for Les Inrockuptibles, and a frequent contributor to various art magazines and catalogues. Thomas Lélu is an artist and writer. Ageing populations have gradually become a major concern in many industrialised countries over the past fifty years, drawing the attention of both politics and science. The target of a raft of health and social policies, older people are often identified as a specific, and vulnerable, population. At the same time, ageing has become a specialisation in many disciplines - medicine, sociology, psychology, to name but three – and a discipline of its own: gerontology. This book questions the framing of old age by focusing on the relationships between policy making and the production of knowledge. The first part explores how the meeting of scientific expertise and the politics of old age anchors the construction of both individual and collective relationships to the future. Part II brings to light the many ways in which issues relating to ageing can be instrumentalised and ideologised in several public debate arenas. Part III argues that scientific knowledge itself composes with objectivity, bringing ideologies of its own to the table, and looks at how this impacts discourse about ageing. In the final part, the contributors discuss how the frames can themselves be experienced at different levels of the division of labour, whether it is by people who work on them (legislators or scientists), by people working with them (professional carers) or by older people themselves. Unpacking the political and moral dimensions of scientific research on ageing, this cutting-edge volume brings together a range of multidisciplinary, European perspectives, and will be of use to all those interested in old age and the social sciences.

Dans sa deuxieme epitre aux Corinthiens, l'apotre Paul mentionne qu'autrefois il a ete ravi aux cieux, sans donner de details. Cette breve allusion a une ascension celeste a suscite la curiosite de generations de lecteurs, et quelques-uns d'entre eux, voulant combler les lacunes du texte paulien, ont invente leurs propres recits de ce qui s'est passe pendant ce voyage celeste. Un de ces recits, la Visio sancti Pauli, a connu une grande fortune dans l'antiquite tardive et au Moyen-age, et a exerce une influence considerable sur la creation de la Divine comedie de Dante. Il existe d'autres recits analogues, parmi lesquels se trouve l'Apocalypse de Paul conservee dans une version copte, et d'origine gnostique, recit beaucoup plus obscur que la Visio, mais tout aussi fascinant. Son auteur utilise de facon pleinement consciente, la tradition judeo-chretienne des apocalypses d'ascension, une tradition constituee de textes qui racontent l'ascension aux cieux d'un visionnaire. L'Apocalypse de Paul se sert des motifs de cette tradition pour construire son propre recit. La seule copie de cette Apocalypse de Paul qui nous soit parvenue se trouve dans le cinquieme codex de la bibliotheque de Nag Hammadi. D'une importance considerable pour quiconque s'interesse aux ecrits pauliniens ou apocalyptiques, ce texte possede en lui-meme un charme certain. Le present volume contient une nouvelle edition du texte copte, accompagnee d'une traduction francaise, d'une ample introduction, d'un commentaire exhaustif, redige en anglais, et d'index copte et greco-copte; il offre l'analyse la plus complete a ce jour de cet ecrit. L'auteur de commentaire propose de voir dans l'Apocalypse de Paul un ouvrage de propagande valentinien, redige pour convaincre ses lecteurs de la domination du dieu createur, alors que l'auteur de l'introduction adopte un point de vue different.
