This book examines the current status of Mexicano and Latino politics in the United States. Political scientist and community activist Armando Navarro maintains that both represent a dysfunctional and failed mode of politics, attributable to their system maintenance and mainstream ideological orientation and approach. As colonial agents, they protect both a United States that is decaying and declining and the degenerative liberal capitalist system. Navarro argues that the United States is not a representative democracy; but in fact, is a “White Corpocratic Dictatorship” controlled by Capital, which is evolving into a Fascist State. The book provides an in-depth analysis and contention that Mexicanos and Latinos in Aztlán (Southwest) are an “occupied and internal colonized people.” It argues they are the “Palestinians and Kurds” of the United States. His supposition is sustained by the book’s profiles of Mexicano political history, demography, socioeconomics, electoral politics, immigration, and the Triad Crisis (e.g., Second Great Depression, Global Economic Crisis, and Global Capitalist Crisis). Each chapter provides the justification and case for Navarro’s two unique alternative change models, applicable to today’s bankrupt and failed Mexicano and Latino Politics in the twenty-first century. The preferred model is “Aztlán’s Politics of a Nation-Within-a-Nation (APNWN),” which is based on the models of the Mormon Nation of Utah and that of French Quebec. Navarro, therefore, calls for the reformation of the United States’ liberal capitalist system by way of social democracy for the empowerment of Mexicanos and Latinos. His second model is “Aztlán’s Politics of Separatism” (APS), which offers two strategic options, (1) Aztlán (Southwest) becoming a separate and sovereign nation-state or (2) its reannexation and re-integration with Mexico. Navarro outlines a “plan of action” for building a New Movement designed to attain APNWN or APS. In addition, several ominous forecasts are made, such as the United States being in a state of decline and no longer a hegemonic superpower due to the rise of a multi-polar world. Moreover, Navarro attributes the United States’ decline to the inherent contradictions of global capitalism. His sobering message is that if the current economic conditions are left unchanged, this will produce an “End of Times” scenario—the unleashing of the “Four Horseman of the Apocalypse.”

Mi nombre es Antonio Anteliz Zurita, nací un 5 de Agosto de 1947 en la ciudad de Puebla. Curse mi Primaria en la Escuela Motolinia, mi Secundaria en el Seminario Salesiano de Don Bosco en Puebla y en San Pedro Tlaquepaque Jalisco, mi Preparatoria en el Colegio San SEBASTIAN de Aparicio, estuve 3 años en la Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, cursando la carrera de Ciencias Económicas Administrativas. En 1968 me vine a la Ciudad de Chicago, en 1970 comencé a escribir sobre deportes en el semanario más prestigioso de la "Ciudad de los Vientos", LA RAZA, posteriormente escribí en los diferentes periódicos y revistas de Chicago, como EL NORTE, EL HERALDO, CHICAGO DEPORTIVO, EL EXTRA, EL TELEGUIA, ETC.; estuve tres años trabajando en la radio LA TREMENDA, en un programa titulado "Hablando de Deportes". Fundé con Jorge Alvarez el primer grupo Teatral de Chicago. Coproduje un cine video de la película titulada "El chorizo del carnicero" y escribí dicho libreto. Hice televisión en Chicago en el programa de Alva Molina en el canal 26, he salido en UNIVISION en el programa de República Deportiva, Despierta América. En TELEMUNDO en Sálvese Quien Pueda. Incursioné en el cine mexicano actuando en 8 cines videos al lado de Mario Almada, Alfonso Zayas, Flaco Guzmán, El Flaco Ibáñez, Edgardo Gazcon, Armando Araiza, Cesar Bono, etc. Tengo un personaje cómico de un monaguillo bien irreverente llamado "Agapito Melocras" y conjuntamente a mi compañero el sacerdote "El cura melcacho", les hemos abierto a varios comediantes su Show. Tengo alrededor de ocho libros listos para la imprenta. Espero que cuando sepa que ya hay otro libro mío en el mercado lo compre porque va ser interesante y diferente.

This work responds to the increasing global need of measuring and analyzing impacts, vulnerabilities and coping capacity of countries, regions and communities regarding climate change, extreme weather conditions, natural disasters and institutional constraints. The case of Mexico, analyzed in this work, provides lessons for further developing countries to assess natural disasters vulnerability, for making informed adaptation decisions and to optimize resources for reducing country and community vulnerability. This book’s analyses contribute to the current debate of the long-term economic impact of natural disasters (hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.), as well as offer an integral methodology combining natural and social sciences for studies of country and community level vulnerability to climate change. This book focuses on the migration strategies of Chinese women who travel to Mexico City in search of opportunities and survival. Specifically, it explores the experiences and contributions of women who have placed themselves within the local and conflictive networks of Mexico City ́s downtown street markets (particularly in Tepito), where they work as suppliers and petty vendors of inexpensive products made in China (specifically in Yiwu). Street markets are the vital nodes of Mexican “popular” economy (economía popular), but the people that work and live among them have a long history of marginalization in relation to formal economic networks in Mexico City. Despite the difficult conditions of these spaces, in the last three decades they have become a new source of economic opportunities and labor market access for Chinese migrants, particularly for women. Through their commerce, these migrants have introduced new commodities and new trade dynamics into these markets, which are thereby transformed into alternative spaces of globalization.
