La anatomía es de todo… menos simple. Los textos clásicos de anatomía estaban basados en una minuciosa descripción de cada estructura. No tenían limitaciones de tiempo ni de espacio. Si un autor precisaba de toda su vida o de realizar cientos de disecciones de cadáver para exponer sus observaciones, simplemente lo hacía. Muchas vidas fueron dadas al servicio de estos conocimientos. Pero la sociedad y la ciencia fueron cambiando. La búsqueda de la sencillez, de lo general, se fue imponiendo sobre el detalle y la precisión, en una economía que limitaba, además, el espacio, la calidad y el gasto. La ciencia se fue reduciendo a manuales pequeños, con dibujos solo esenciales y muchas veces deformados para expresar aquello que se buscaba en una pequeña frase o una flecha. Las universidades perdieron la esencialidad de los conocimientos anatómicos por unos textos elaborados por profesores únicamente clínicos o por comisiones, esquemas generales, clases tipo “PowerPoint” y resúmenes, donde se fue olvidando la enseñanza directa sobre el cadáver por unas clases masificadas (o vacías) sobre una mesa digital, en el mejor de los casos.
