Gersam Tüchler Noguera, mi padre, fue un hombre muy diferente a todos. Y diría que nadie lo comprendía, no estaba en su grupo. Todo él, la forma de vestir, roce social, intelectual, y su religión judía, no era parte del grupo donde él residía. Nunca le interesó el dinero, no tomaba licor ni cerveza, ni siquiera vino como los europeos. Prefería estar solo leyendo, escribiendo, escuchando música clásica: Chopin, Kachaturian, Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, ect.ect. No sabía tocar piano, pero tenía un piano Wurlizter donde mi hermano, hermana y yo, aprendimos. Tenía poco amigos, solo a dos que hablaban de religión. No visita a nadie, pero él era muy visitado por personas interesadas en visitar su museo, biblioteca, discoteca y anticuario. La señora Clementina Rivas reportera del Diario La Prensa cuenta en su reporte que mi padre poseía alrededor de 600 objetos antiguos, incluyendo adornos Judíos. Unos colegas como el Dr. Zuñiga lo visitaban para consultarle sobre asuntos jurídicos. La gente de Managua decían que él era una excéntrico, raro, libre pensador, poeta, loco, y lo llamaban "El Doctor". No pudo terminar sus estudios universitarios por razones de política, Usaba un sello con el título de Dr. Inf. Gersam Tüchler Noguera. No tenía amigos, pero era muy visitado por personas para conocer su museo personal, así como su discoteca clásica, biblioteca con su selección de libros raros y revistas de toda clase; antiguos objetos judíos, sus candelabros de cristal de roca colgados del techo. Tenía una lava manos de mármol blanco en su mesa de madera Palo de Rosa. También un juego de lava manos y pichel de electroplata. Dedicado a la fotografía usando una cámara de 3 dimensiones (3 D), la única en Centro América. Según Clementina Rivas F. reportera del periódico La Prensa de Managua, mi padre vivía en una "manera envidiable con sus anticuario para olvidad su soledad". Pero después de un terremoto, y dos guerras civiles todo esto fue robado y destruido. Mi hermano Edgar, mi hermana Nena yo, nos sentimos muy orgulloso ser descendiente de él, y agradecemos todo la vida de sus enseñanzas, y consejos. A pesar de que tenía a veces mal carácter, reconocemos que a veces quizás no comprendimos sus buenas intenciones, pero nunca nos resentimos, lo amamos pues no olvidamos, que después de todo fue nuestro padre (q.e.p.d.)

La muestra está organizada en seis espacios distintos, además de una sala de cine y una biblioteca. Las tres primeras estancias (A, B y C) tienen un planteamiento cronológico y muestran la historia de la neovanguardia de los años sesenta y la poesía experimental de los setenta a través de obras, documentos, fotografías, libros y revistas, entre otros objetos. Los espacios D, E y F, con un enfoque más formal, muestran una selección de obras relacionadas con la poesía experimental. En la primera de ellas, el espectador puede contemplar una selección de 50 poemas experimentales en una edición digital especialmente desarrollada para esta exposición. A través de las pantallas puede accederse a destacados ejemplos de poesía visual, poemas sonoros y poesía textual. En el espacio E se muestran ejemplares de poesía sonora, de poemas-objeto y libros-objeto y de poesía-acción. En la estancia F se muestran obras de autores españoles y no españoles cuya relevancia viene dada por su participación en exposiciones internacionales de poesía experimental. La exposición se completa con una biblioteca y una sala de cine, en la que se pueden visionar algunas películas de aquellos años, caracterizadas por la abstracción y las transgresiones estéticas defendidas también desde la poesía. Entre ellas se encuentra Pêche de nuit, realizado en 1963 por varios autores, entre otros Henri Chopin, creador de la poesía sonora fallecido el pasado año. También pueden verse dos películas de Javier Aguirre dedicadas a Julio Campal y Jorge Oteiza. La biblioteca pretende ayudar al visitante a conocer algunas publicaciones de poesía experimental, y permitir a los expertos profundizar en los aspectos teóricos y prácticos del género.

Few, if any, U.S. writers are as important to the history of world literature as Edgar Allan Poe, and few, if any, U.S. authors owe so much of their current reputations to the process of translation. Translated Poe brings together 31 essays from 19 different national/literary traditions to demonstrate Poe’s extensive influence on world literature and thought while revealing the importance of the vehicle that delivers Poe to the world—translation. Translated Poe is not preoccupied with judging the “quality” of any given Poe translation nor with assessing what a specific translation of Poe must or should have done. Rather, the volume demonstrates how Poe’s translations constitute multiple contextual interpretations, testifying to how this prolific author continues to help us read ourselves and the world(s) we live in. The examples of how Poe’s works were spread abroad remind us that literature depends as much on authorial creation and timely readership as on the languages and worlds through which a piece of literature circulates after its initial publication in its first language. This recasting of signs and symbols that intervene in other cultures when a text is translated is one of the principal subjects of the humanistic discipline of Translation Studies, dealing with the the products, functions, and processes of translation as both a cognitive and socially regulated activity. Both literary history and the history of translation benefit from this book’s focus on Poe, whose translated fortune has helped to shape literary modernity, in many cases importantly redefining the target literary systems. Furthermore, we envision this book as a fountain of resources for future Poe scholars from various global sites, including the United States, since the cases of Poe’s translations—both exceptional and paradigmatic—prove that they are also levers that force the reassessment of the source text in its native literature.
