If we're honest, most of us feel bored, distracted, or discouraged in prayer. We look for resources to give us the "right" words or teach us the "right" technique and are disappointed when they don't seem to help. What we fail to realize is that prayer isn't a place for us to be good or right, and it isn't a place for us to perform or prove our worth. It's a place for us to be honest, present, and known--a place for us to offer ourselves and receive God. Spiritual formation experts Kyle Strobel and John Coe want to show you what you've been missing when it comes to prayer. In this down-to-earth book, they show you how to fearlessly draw near to a holy God, pray without ceasing (and without posturing), and delight in the experience of being fully known and fully loved. Each chapter ends with prayer projects or practices to help you see a difference in your prayer life, starting now.

In order, then, to attach ourselves to this great means of salvation, we must first of all consider how necessary it is to us, and how powerful it is to obtain for us all the graces that we can desire from God, if we know how to ask for them as we ought. Hence, in the first part, we will speak first of the necessity and power of prayer; and next, of the conditions necessary to make it efficacious with God. Then, in the second part, we will show that the grace of prayer is given to all; and there we will treat of the manner in which grace ordinarily operates. Aeterna Press

Prayer is our lifeline unto God and unto our Lord Jesus Christ, for repentance or just to enter times of entering our Heavenly Fathers presence. Prayer is our telephone call unto God, so to speak. However, though many Christians, never pray as they should and because of a prayerlessness life, many are spiritually robbed of God's love, being revealed unto them. Many of Gods Children are so caught up in this world and its formalities that many seldom realize that they are even in a spiritual lack at all because of being fleshly minded, not having their minds renewed, as the Bible teaches us to not be conformed unto this world. The Bible teaches us not to be conformed to this world. This one statement should rise up the eyebrows of every Christian. So that every believer could spiritually realize that they must become spiritually conscious that this world blinds us spiritually, from learning about spiritual truths. The Christians mind must be spiritually awakened to learn the truth of true prayer and worship and the purpose of prayer and worship, unto God. Letting this worlds ways pass from the hearts and minds of every believer because of their minds being renewed that the Christian has grown past fleshly thinking concerning prayer. That prayer has become a normal way of life for every Child of God. For any believer not to have a good Biblical prayer life, would be unheard of and a thing of the past. Are you here, my dear reading friend, in your spiritual growth and your walk with God? When I said that prayer was our lifeline unto God and the way that we are spiritually entered into Gods Holy presence, this statement is all true and all Christians must realize it and begin to practice real prayer to be entered into the presence of our Heavenly Father and His love. If every Child of God knew how important prayer was, to their living in life and dwelling in God's grace, many would change their lives forever, as God truly desires in the first place. The purpose of writing a book like this little nugget, as a small read, yet it has its purpose and contains everything that God purposely placed in its anointed pages, just for the thirsty readers drink of water for the day. Many Reasons Why You Need To Pray And Establish A Good Prayer Life As a Child of God learns to establish a good prayer life, you my dear reading friend, will begin your spiritual journey and have Gods treasures revealed and manifested unto you. You must first learn that God is and that He is a rewarder of those that seek Him, through and by prayer. There are untold riches to be revealed and manifested unto you, as a believer because of learning to go and pray and enter Gods presence... Daily and several times in a day, why? That Gods Spirit may enter you into your detained fellowship with your creator, God. We are not waiting on God, God is waiting for His Children to become, Spirit led as Sons and Daughters. God has many riches to make known unto you, my reading friend. However these things are hidden from your natural thinking, God has to discern them unto you. He has to reveal and manifest them unto you, as a Hearer of His Spirit. Prayer places you in God's presence to have Gods love made known unto you, a seeker of the living God, which is our Heavenly Father and His love and grace that is for every Child of God, to have Gods all made known unto you a Son or Daughter. Gods just waiting on you to learn to pray as you need to pray to press on into His mighty grace towards you, to express His deepest love towards you. God is waiting on you to enter your times of prayer, to manifest His loving grace that is hidden from your natural thinking. God at this time wants you to begin a new thing in your life, begin to pray differently, from this day forth. Teach yourself to pray until Gods Spirit enters you into His presence, past praying in your formalities. Gods Spirit can and will spiritually draw and enter you into Gods presence...

Where The Light Fell written by Philip Yancey and has been published by Convergent Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-10-05 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

In this searing meditation on the bonds of family and the allure of extremist faith, one of today’s most celebrated Christian writers recounts his unexpected journey from a strict fundamentalist upbringing to a life of compassion and grace—a revelatory memoirthat “invites comparison to Hillbilly Elegy” (Publishers Weekly, starred review). “This stunning tale reminds us that the only way to keep living is to ask God for the impossible: love, forgiveness, and hope.”—Kate Bowler, New York Times bestselling author of Everything Happens for a Reason Raised by an impoverished widow who earned room and board as a Bible teacher in 1950s Atlanta, Philip Yancey and his brother, Marshall, found ways to venture out beyond the confines of their eight-foot-wide trailer. But when Yancey was in college, he uncovered a shocking secret about his father’s death—a secret that began to illuminate the motivations that drove his mother to extreme, often hostile religious convictions and a belief that her sons had been ordained for a divine cause. Searching for answers, Yancey dives into his family origins, taking us on an evocative journey from the backwoods of the Bible Belt to the bustling streets of Philadelphia; from trailer parks to church sanctuaries; from family oddballs to fire-and-brimstone preachers and childhood awakenings through nature, music, and literature. In time, the weight of religious and family pressure sent both sons on opposite paths—one toward healing from the impact of what he calls a “toxic faith,” the other into a self-destructive spiral. Where the Light Fell is a gripping family narrative set against a turbulent time in post–World War II America, shaped by the collision of Southern fundamentalism with the mounting pressures of the civil rights movement and Sixties-era forces of social change. In piecing together his fragmented personal history and his search for redemption, Yancey gives testament to the enduring power of our hunger for truth and the possibility of faith rooted in grace instead of fear. “I truly believe this is the one book I was put on earth to write,” says Yancey. “So many of the strands from my childhood—racial hostility, political division, culture wars—have resurfaced in modern form. Looking back points me forward.”

Is answered prayer a sovereign decision of God or do I have the ability to influence Him? Clear, scriptural answers to these questions and more could significantly change the way you pray. These principles may not be the only way to pray, but if you're not getting the results you desire, consider changing directions; maybe there is A Better Way to Pray.
