Nadie duda que la protección a la infancia sea un derecho fundamental. Dentro del catálago de derechos humanos es el que mayor cobertura requiere por la propia naturaleza indefensa del niño. Éste, susceptible a cualquier influencia, debe ser protegido para que las oportunidades de su desarrollo lo lleven a alcanzar otros derechos. Y sin embargo, muchos menores comienzan su vida adulta en situaciones de precariedad psciológica con una autoestima devastada. Ese es, precisamente, el caso de la prostitución, conocida como la última forma prevaleciente de esclavitud, sin importar que ésta se ejerza con voluntad. Los promotores de la prostitución sostienen que prostituírse está bien si es una decisión propia, que es un derecho. Nada más lejos de la realidad. Las niñas no sueñan con convertirse en prostitutas. Sueñan con ser princesas. El hecho de que existan pocas de éstas no justifica la de tantas de las otras. La prostitución no es un lugar al que se escala, es uno en donde se cae. Nada tiene de digno que un extraño tenga intimidad con otra persona por dinero. No lo tiene para uno, ni para el otro. No obstante, es más fácil claudicar que luchar, sin contar con que se consiguen más adeptos dentro del caos que en el orden. Por eso no sorprende que los políticos contemporáneos eviten combatir la prostitución y, en su lugar, lleguen a promoverla. Para los verdaderos promotores de los derechos humanos, es decir, los que no ganan nada a cambio, la prostitución debe abolirse. Todos los tratados internacionales en la materia apuntan en esa dirección. México a firmado la gran mayoría de ellos y deberían obligar al Estado mexicano a modificar las leyes para adecuárlas a los instrumentos internacionales. En esta obra se indaga si esto es así o no. Partiendo del análisis de dichos tratados firmados por México, se desglosan los elementos a los que éstos obligan. A partir de ahí, se revisa la legislación federal y cada una de las treinta y dos locales para determinar que tan cercanas se encuentran de cumplir sus compromisos. El resultado es, al menos, sorprendente. Un valor agregado de este libro es el novedoso método de Derecho Comparado utilizado. El autor diseña una forma objetiva de analizar las distintas leyes sin importar los elementos subjetivos de éstas. El método permite utilizar valoraciones numericas que permiten comparaciones descargadas de emotividad y, con ello, poder medir la distancia entre unos tipos legales y otros. El novedoso sistema puede utilizarse para cualquier otro estudio comparativo para arrojar resultados objetivos en cualquier materia y sociedad sometida al Derecho Positivo, lo que convierte a esta obra en una de carácter atemporal. Mientras las leyes pueden cambiar, el método permite, además, comprender su evolución.
