The authors prove a general form of the sum formula $\mathrm{SL}_2$ over a totally real number field. This formula relates sums of Kloosterman sums to products of Fourier coefficients of automorphic representations. The authors give two versions: the spectral sum formula (in short: sum formula) and the Kloosterman sum formula. They have the independent test function in the spectral term, in the sum of Kloosterman sums, respectively.

Sum Of Squares Theory And Applications written by Pablo A. Parrilo and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Education categories.

This volume is based on lectures delivered at the 2019 AMS Short Course “Sum of Squares: Theory and Applications”, held January 14–15, 2019, in Baltimore, Maryland. This book provides a concise state-of-the-art overview of the theory and applications of polynomials that are sums of squares. This is an exciting and timely topic, with rich connections to many areas of mathematics, including polynomial and semidefinite optimization, real and convex algebraic geometry, and theoretical computer science. The six chapters introduce and survey recent developments in this area; specific topics include the algebraic and geometric aspects of sums of squares and spectrahedra, lifted representations of convex sets, and the algorithmic and computational implications of viewing sums of squares as a meta algorithm. The book also showcases practical applications of the techniques across a variety of areas, including control theory, statistics, finance and machine learning.

From Polynomials to Sums of Squares describes a journey through the foothills of algebra and number theory based around the central theme of factorization. The book begins by providing basic knowledge of rational polynomials, then gradually introduces other integral domains, and eventually arrives at sums of squares of integers. The text is complemented with illustrations that feature specific examples. Other than familiarity with complex numbers and some elementary number theory, very little mathematical prerequisites are needed. The accompanying disk enables readers to explore the subject further by removing the tedium of doing calculations by hand. Throughout the text there are practical activities involving the computer.

Sums of Squares of Integers covers topics in combinatorial number theory as they relate to counting representations of integers as sums of a certain number of squares. The book introduces a stimulating area of number theory where research continues to proliferate. It is a book of "firsts" - namely it is the first book to combine Liouville's element

Dedekind Sums written by Hans Rademacher and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1972-12-31 with MATHEMATICS categories.

These notes from Hans Rademacher's 1963 Hedrick Lectures have been gently polished and augmented by Emil Grosswald. While the topic itself is specialized, these sums are linked in diverse ways to many results in number theory, elliptical modular functions, and topology. The first main result is a surprising reciprocity law that is equivalent to the law of quadratic reciprocity.

Modern Data Science With R written by Benjamin S. Baumer and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-03-16 with Mathematics categories.

Modern Data Science with R is a comprehensive data science textbook for undergraduates that incorporates statistical and computational thinking to solve real-world problems with data. Rather than focus exclusively on case studies or programming syntax, this book illustrates how statistical programming in the state-of-the-art R/RStudio computing environment can be leveraged to extract meaningful information from a variety of data in the service of addressing compelling statistical questions. Contemporary data science requires a tight integration of knowledge from statistics, computer science, mathematics, and a domain of application. This book will help readers with some background in statistics and modest prior experience with coding develop and practice the appropriate skills to tackle complex data science projects. The book features a number of exercises and has a flexible organization conducive to teaching a variety of semester courses.

The goals of this text are to develop the skills and an appreciation for the richness and versatility of modern time series analysis as a tool for analyzing dependent data. A useful feature of the presentation is the inclusion of nontrivial data sets illustrating the richness of potential applications to problems in the biological, physical, and social sciences as well as medicine. The text presents a balanced and comprehensive treatment of both time and frequency domain methods with an emphasis on data analysis. Numerous examples using data illustrate solutions to problems such as discovering natural and anthropogenic climate change, evaluating pain perception experiments using functional magnetic resonance imaging, and the analysis of economic and financial problems. The text can be used for a one semester/quarter introductory time series course where the prerequisites are an understanding of linear regression, basic calculus-based probability skills, and math skills at the high school level. All of the numerical examples use the R statistical package without assuming that the reader has previously used the software. Robert H. Shumway is Professor Emeritus of Statistics, University of California, Davis. He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and has won the American Statistical Association Award for Outstanding Statistical Application. He is the author of numerous texts and served on editorial boards such as the Journal of Forecasting and the Journal of the American Statistical Association. David S. Stoffer is Professor of Statistics, University of Pittsburgh. He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and has won the American Statistical Association Award for Outstanding Statistical Application. He is currently on the editorial boards of the Journal of Forecasting, the Annals of Statistical Mathematics, and the Journal of Time Series Analysis. He served as a Program Director in the Division of Mathematical Sciences at the National Science Foundation and as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Statistical Association and the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics.
