O presente livro tem a sua génese nos resultados obtidos no âmbito de um projeto de investigação europeu[1] que envolveu oito países, entre os quais Portugal (Oliveira et al., 2014), tendo como questão de partida: porquê estudar a integração política de imigrantes e de portugueses de origem imigrante, quando o próprio exercício dos direitos políticos no âmbito do paradigma nacional de cidadania parece ser hoje questionado? Em síntese, este estudo procura caracterizar, por um lado, os direitos políticos que os imigrantes têm em Portugal (capítulo 1), atendendo assim aos contornos do enquadramento legal e institucional nacional que definem a capacidade eleitoral ativa e passiva dos diferentes cidadãos residentes no país; e, por outro lado, a partir das perceções dos participantes dos quatro focus groups promovidos e dos entrevistados (51 pessoas no total), analisar a relação que se estabelece em Portugal entre os partidos políticos e os cidadãos imigrantes e de origem imigrante (capítulo 2), e a efetiva participação e representação política dos imigrantes percecionada pelas elites políticas e pelos representantes de comunidades imigrantes (capítulo 3). Estando o estudo orientado pela procura de respostas às questões em cima elencadas, com rigor científico e pragmatismo, conclui com a sinalização de algumas oportunidades e obstáculos identificados ao lugar da diversidade cultural e étnica na democracia portuguesa. Finalmente, conscientes da necessidade e da importância de se recolherem contributos que otimizem a qualidade dos processos de decisão pública em matéria de integração política dos imigrantes, no contexto de uma sociedade plural e integradora, o estudo apresenta ainda no final inúmeras recomendações dirigidas a diferentes atores – aos partidos políticos e elites políticas, ao legislador, à sociedade civil, e aos académicos e investigadores. Esta obra intitulada Educação Básica e Formação Inicial de Professores: a diversidade e os desafios contemporâneos sinaliza mais um investimento do Núcleo Gera/UFPA com o fortalecimento e ampliação de discussões voltadas para os processos de formação inicial e continuada de professores da Educação Básica e suas inter-relações com a temática da Educação para as Relações Étnico-Raciais (ERER). Desta maneira, consoante a este propósito a obra reúne as produções advindas do “X Seminário Nacional e XII Seminário Regional sobre Formação de Professores e Relações Étnico-Raciais”, realizado no período de 09 a 11 de dezembro de 2020, sob financiamento do CNPq, em evento que contou com a participação expressiva de Professores da Educação Básica e de Estudantes de Graduação e Pós-Graduação das regiões Norte; Sudeste; Nordeste e Centro-oeste. Os autores e coautores das produções publicizadas neste E-book atuam em sua maioria como profissionais da Educação Básica (12) e Estudantes da Pós-Graduação (26). Com representatividade de dez (10) autores e coautores identificamos em ambas as categorias os Professores da Educação Superior e os estudantes de Graduação. Dentre as instituições, com maior percentual, as quais se vinculam esses autores e coautores podemos citar a Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA); a Universidade Federal do Acre (UFAC); a Universidade do Estado do Pará (UEPA); a Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia (UFRA); a Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). A atuação dos profissionais da Educação Básica concentra-se na Rede Municipal e Estadual de Ensino. Por conseguinte, a apresentação destas produções no decorrer da obra se efetiva por meio de uma perspectiva interdisciplinar e coletiva, haja visto que, reúne autores (as) e coautores de diferentes áreas do conhecimento. Ademais, as produções que serão publicizadas contemplam cinco (5) eixos de discussão: 1) Educação das Relações Étnico-Raciais e Educação Básica; 2) Formação de Professores para a Educação das Relações Étnico-Raciais; 3) O Estado da Arte e a Educação das Relações Étnico-Raciais; 4) questões de Gênero, Identidade e Diversidade; 5) E o Ensino de História e Diversidade. Deforestation is occurring at an alarming rate in many parts of the world, causing destruction of natural habitat and fragmentation of what remains. Nowhere is this problem more pressing than in the Amazon rainforest, which is rapidly vanishing in the face of enormous pressure from humans to exploit it. This book presents the results of the longest-running and most comprehensive study of forest fragmentation ever undertaken, the Biological Dynamics of Forest Fragments Project (BDFFP) in central Amazonia, the only experimental study of tropical forest fragmentation in which baseline data are available before isolation from continuous forest took place.A joint project of Brazil’s National Institute for Research in Amazonia and the U.S. Smithsonian Institution, the BDFFP has investigated the many effects that habitat fragmentation has on plants, invertebrates, and vertebrates.
