From Public Housing To The Social Market written by Jim Kemeny and has been published by Psychology Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995 with Business & Economics categories.

In this volume, Jim Kemeny develops a new approach to the comparative study of rental markets. The framework used takes the concept of the process of maturation of non-profit rental housing as its starting point. It shows how two broad policy strategies have been developed to channel maturation in different ways. These are the 'dualist' system of state control of non-profit renting, which residualises it and protects profit renting from competition. This strategy is used in English-speaking countries, and Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand are presented as case studies. The other strategy is to develop a 'unitary rental market' by integrating non-profit renting with profit renting to create a single rental market. This strategy derives from the German concept of the social market, and Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland are presented as case studies. Jim Kemeny shows how each system derives from differences in the representation of vested interests, is informed by different assumptions governing how markets operate, and gives rise to different sets of policy problems. Offering a radical critique of the orthodox view, it is argued that the time is now right for English-speaking nations to abandon state control over cost renting and allow it to compete directly with profit renting, as in the 'unitary market' model. International in scope, this dynamic, innovative volume will be of great interest to researchers in housing, sociology and related fields.

Rental Housing Wanted written by Vicente Fretes Cibils and has been published by Inter-American Development Bank this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-12-09 with Business & Economics categories.

This book highlights the importance of renting and its potential to help solve the most pressing housing problems in Latin America and the Caribbean. Currently, 1 in 5 households in the region rent their homes, a trend which is most prevalent among the fastest-growing segments of the population, such as young people, single-person households and divorced people. This alternative can therefore help satisfy demand preferences and create greater residential mobility. Also, the quality of rented property is often similar to that of formal homes, even for households in the lowest income quintiles, proving it is an efficient and cost-effective alternative for resolving the qualitative and quantitative housing deficits in the region, suggesting that housing policies linked to better planning and improved territorial organization can lead to more dense, compact cities. For these reasons, the rental market may become a key instrument to compliment the region's housing policy.

Make $2500, $5000, or $10,000 per month without lifting a finger!Ever wonder why so many books on Airbnb and short-term rentals (STRs) promise easy money? They aren't lying--it's likely you will increase your income substantially by renting your property short-term rather than long term. I always have. But those books aren't telling you the whole truth. To have an STR business that fires on all cylinders and brings in the most cash, you need to plan and execute your STR business smartly, doing everything right from day one.Unlike most businesses--especially in a competitive market--it is a bad idea to try to learn STRs by trial and error. The financial stakes are just too high. Bad reviews follow you forever, and mistakes you make on your first day business (or before!) can affect you for years to come, reducing your bookings, prices, and therefore, your income.Josh West has managed short-term rentals in New Orleans for more than five years, and made great money doing it. This book offers a wealth of planning tools, advice, insider tips, and information to get you started on the right foot. What are the critical things you need to think about before you open your STR, as well as while you are operating it? If you don't know, you should. This book tells you, and more, but never forgets to walk you through the basics, like how to get your property on Airbnb, how to write a listing that attracts guests, what amenities to offer, what to charge, and much more.Don't buy a book that promises you $10,000 the first month but glosses over the hard parts, leading you into a financial quicksand that can sink your business. Buying A Home Isn T Everything written by Paul Winstanley and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-12-15 with House buying categories.

The Winstanleys bring a wealth of experience to this balanced, user-friendly and fact-filled guide to renting a home. There has long been an extremely strong ethos among New Zealanders that favours buying a home, rather than renting. But over recent years the unprecedented invasion of property investors has pumped up house prices and flooded the rental market. As a consequence the balance of risk and reward has altered dramatically, and it's no longer automatically 'better' to buy than to rent; for many of those seeking security in a volatile housing market, renting can offer a better financial, lifestyle and investment option. Buying a Home Isn't Everything examines the pros and cons of renting versus buying and presents the case to readers on all rungs of the property ladder. Case studies, charts and tables back up the clear and concise text.
