The essence of this book is to help and inspire people to adapt smoothly to the new “post-Covid World”, the “new normal”, as well as helping them improve other aspects of their lives. As an example, companies have been testing and adapting to new ways of working in order to improve employee performance, optimize outputs and reduce costs such as acquiring new communication tools, collaboration tools, virtual desktops as a service, and more. Some companies implemented what is called “flexiwork“, which is a hybrid mode that allows employees to work a few days from home with pre-notice, depending on the company’s policies. Due to Covid-19, all of these changes have been accelerated with incredible speed and even more incredible dimensions. During Covid-19, all of us have suffered an extreme lockdown that enforced the adoption of these tools and remote work. This is especially true for roles that can be done with a good laptop and strong internet connection. You will be surprised how much more you could accomplish in a short period of time, giving you the momentum that you need to keep setting greater goals in your personal and professional life. This book will help you to improve those important aspects in life.

Multisystemic Resilience written by Michael Ungar and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021 with Psychology categories.

"Across diverse disciplines, the term resilience is appearing more and more often. However, while each discipline has developed theory and models to explain the resilience of the systems they study (e.g., a natural environment, a community post-disaster, the human mind, a computer network, or the economy), there is a lack of over-arching theory that describes: 1) whether the principles that underpin the resilience of one system are similar or different from the principles that govern resilience of other systems; 2) whether the resilience of one system affects the resilience of other co-occurring systems; and 3) whether a better understanding of resilience can inform the design of interventions, programs and policies that address "wicked" problems that are too complex to solve by changing one system at a time? In other words (and as only one example among many) are there similarities between how a person builds and sustains psychological resilience and how a forest, community or the business where he or she works remains successful and sustainable during periods of extreme adversity? Does psychological resilience in a human being influence the resilience of the forests (through a change in attitude towards conservation), community (through a healthy tolerance for differences) and businesses (by helping a workforce perform better) with which a person interacts? And finally, does this understanding of resilience help build better social and physical ecologies that support individual mental health, a sustainable environment and a successful economy at the same time?"--

Psychology Of Career Adaptability Employability And Resilience written by Kobus Maree and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-12-05 with Psychology categories.

This book examines how the career counselling profession should respond to the changes in the world of work that have resulted from the increasing need to communicate faster and disseminate information more efficiently. It emphasizes the twin aims of enhancing a persons’ career adaptability and helping them to become more employable, rather than linearly trying to find a job and remaining in one organisation for their entire career-lives. The book shows that, to achieve these aims, people need to acquire career resilience, especially since the world of work no longer provides workers with work-holding environments for the duration of their career-lives. It takes into account historical analyses which show that whenever major technological change has occurred and widespread job losses have ensued, people have managed to use the new technology to create new employment opportunities. Readers from career psychology and management research, vocational and professional career coaching, and students of career psychology will find this book delivers sound, updated theory demonstrating how perceived threats in the 21st century can conceivably be turned into opportunities.

Economic decline, natural and manmade disasters, war and destruction, acts of devastating violence, the 21st century has witnessed a climate of crisis, most often immediate and unpredictable but, at times, foreseen, impending and even expected. Such events and the ability for continuity, recovery and change, require strength borne from adaptability. Drawing upon a concept originally introduced by C. S.Holling regarding equilibrium in the ecological system, Volume 05 of the Int|AR journal explores the idea of resilience. From anticipatory strategies to shock absorption, from the reduction of material needs to the widening of the array of resources, from the liberation of traditional constraints to new forms of collaborations, from built-in redundancies to risk mitigation, from transformability to incrementality, this strategy is broad and equally applicable in science, economy, urban planning and design. For Volume 05, we focus on such ideas, theories and explorations in the design of the built environment and welcome submissions on adaptive reuse and the adaptive process as a means and demonstration of resilience.

Rethinking Resilience Adaptation And Transformation In A Time Of Change written by Wanglin Yan and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-03-21 with Science categories.

This book contributes to the literature on resilience, hazard planning, risk management, environmental policy and design, presenting articles that focus on building resilience through social and technical means. Bringing together contributions from Japanese authors, the book also offers a rare English-language glimpse into current policy and practice in Japan since the 2011 Tohoku disaster. The growth of resilience as a common point of contact for fields as disparate as economics, architecture and population politics reflects a shared concern about our capacity to cope with and adapt to change. The ability to bounce back from hardship and disaster is essential to all of our futures. Yet, if such ability is to be sustainable, and not rely on a “brute force” response, innovation will need to become a core practice for policymakers and on-the-ground responders alike. The book offers a valuable reference guide for graduate students, researchers and policy analysts who are looking for a holistic but practical approach to resilience planning.
