Der Name der Jubilarin ist engstens mit ihrem jahrelangen Einsatz für die Erhaltung der zahlreichen Landschlösser, Gutshäuser und Parks in der Mark Brandenburg verbunden. Seit 1993 leitet sie einen Verein, der sich zur Aufgabe gestellt hat, diesen wertvollen Bestand an leider sehr gefährdeten Denkmalen bekanntzumachen und mit Vorträgen, Exkursionen oder Benefizveranstaltungen zu deren denkmalpflegerischer Erhaltung beizutragen. Darüber darf nicht vergessen werden, dass sich die Kunsthistorikerin Sibylle Badstübner-Gröger auch als Hochschullehrerin im In- und Ausland sowie als Autorin mit einem großen OEuvre von wissenschaftlichen Publikationen einen Namen gemacht hat. Sie hat an allen drei Berliner Universitäten gelehrt und aus dem Kreis ihrer Schüler und jungen Kollegen die Autoren für die umfangreiche, bekannte Publikationsreihe »Schlösser und Gärten der Mark« gewonnen, die sie zusammen mit den Mitstreitern in ihrem Verein herausgibt. Nun haben sich jüngere und ältere befreundete Kollegen aus dem In- und Ausland zusammengefunden und einen Band mit Aufsätzen vorgelegt, die im weitesten Sinne Themen aus dem Arbeitsfeld von Sibylle Badstübner-Gröger behandeln. Das Hauptgewicht liegt auf dem 18. und dem frühen 19. Jahrhundert, auf Barock und Aufklärung in Brandenburg-Preußen, auch in Holland und der Schweiz. Immer ist ein denkmalpflegerischer Aspekt in den Beiträgen enthalten, womit die Leistung der Jubilarin gewürdigt und ihrem Einsatz für die Erhaltung und Bewahrung sowie für die wissenschaftliche Erforschung der Schlösser Rechnung getragen wird.
