Im Jahr 1499 erscheint bei Kaspar Hochfeder in Metz der deutschsprachige Prosaroman »Florio und Bianceffora«. Diese Übersetzung des Boccaccio-Frühwerks »Il Filocolo« partizipiert an dem im Mittelalter überaus beliebten und in unterschiedlichen Versionen über ganz Europa verbreiteten Florisstoff. In der germanistischen Literaturwissenschaft hat dieser Text dennoch kaum Beachtung gefunden, seine Kenntnis ist auf gelegentliche beiläufige Erwähnungen beschränkt. Die Studie leistet daher in Auseinandersetzung mit der spezifischen Überlieferungssituation des Textes erstmals eine detaillierte Übersetzungsanalyse, die die sprachlichen Strukturen und kommunikativen Mittel des Prosaromans im Vergleich zum Ausgangstext untersucht und den Roman in den Kontext der zeitgenössischen Übersetzungsliteratur stellt. Die abschließende Einordnung des Textes in die deutschsprachige Erzählliteratur des ausgehenden 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts zeigt thematisch und strukturell zahlreiche Parallelen zu zeitgenössischen deutschen Prosaromanen auf, insbesondere zu den Minneromanen.

In this new volume in the World Soil series, the various types of Icelandic soils, their different characteristics, their formation, degradation and erosion are reviewed.
