Raised like sisters, Mariamne and Salome are indulged with riches, position, and learning-a rare thing for females in Jerusalem. But Mariamne has a further gift: an illness has left her with visions; she has the power of prophecy. It is her prophesying that drives the two girls to flee to Egypt, where they study philosophy, mathematics, and astronomy in the Great Library of Alexandria. After seven years they return to a Judaea where many now believe John the Baptizer is the messiah. Salome too begins to believe, but Mariamne, now called Magdalene, is drawn to his cousin, Yeshu’a, a man touched by the divine in the same way she was during her days of illness. Together they speak of sharing their direct experience of God; but Yeshu’a unexpectedly gains a reputation as a healer, and as the ill and the troubled flock to him, he and Magdalene are forced to make a terrible decision. This radical retelling of the greatest story ever told brings Mary Magdalene to life-not as a prostitute or demon-possessed-but as an educated woman who was truly the “apostle to the apostles.”

Jesus Without Paul Of Tarsus written by Ruy Barraco Marmol and has been published by CreateSpace this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-02-15 with categories.

This book is about Jesus, God become man, and about Paul of Tarsus, commonly known as the Apostle Saint Paul. I always thought that to be a faithful disciple of Jesus I had to believe in the words that Jesus spoke and taught to the twelve apostles, that he personally chose, prepared and credited publicly, without adding to them the words of any other man; but I never applied this belief to the words of Paul of Tarsus. Despite my Catholic Education, several times, readings of passages of the Epistles of Paul had left me with serious doubts about them, for instance those that discriminate against women, teach that all authorities have been instituted by God, and command Christians to submit to ecclesiastic leaders. However, the sound trust that I have been taught to have in the Bible, and that I still maintain, allowed me to live with those doubts until I studied the epistles. When I did it, the love for the truth and the faithfulness to Jesus Christ, that I also have been taught to have, left me with no other option but to admit, that the Epistles of Paul contain many errors, vices and even teachings opposed to Christ's teachings; and led me to realize that Paul was a false prophet responsible for the worst errors and vices that the Catholic Church, and the Christian Church in general, have committed and fallen into. The Inquisition is a good example. Moreover, I realized that the defeat of the worst errors and vices that threaten our present and our future depends on our faithfulness to Jesus, and to the words of Jesus, which we find in the Gospels, and on the recognition of Paul of Tarsus as a false prophet and false apostle. If you want to better understand our past, our present and our future, you should read this book. If you are a Christian who is in love with the Gospels, who loves Christ and wants to be faithful to him and to love him even more, this book is for you.

Foxe S Book Of Martyrs written by John Foxe and has been published by Jazzybee Verlag this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with categories.

Acts and Monuments by John Foxe, popularly abridged as Foxe's Book of Martyrs, is a celebrated work of church history and martyrology, first published in English in 1563 by John Day. Published early in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I and only five years after the death of the Roman Catholic Queen Mary I, Foxe's Acts and Monuments was an affirmation of the Protestant Reformation in England during a period of religious conflict between Catholics and Protestants. Foxe's account of church history asserted a historical justification that was intended to establish the Church of England as a continuation of the true Christian church rather than as a modern innovation, and it contributed significantly to a nationalistic repudiation of the Roman Catholic Church. The sequence of the work, initially in five books, covered first early Christian martyrs, a brief history of the medieval church, including the Inquisitions, and a history of the Wycliffite or Lollard movement. It then dealt with the reigns of Henry VIII and Edward VI, during which the dispute with Rome had led to the separation of the English Church from papal authority and the issuance of the Book of Common Prayer. The final book treated the reign of Queen Mary and the Marian Persecutions. (courtesy of wikipedia.com)

Tragic Sense of Life is one of the most outstanding philosophical essays of Miguel de Unamuno. Under the influence of Søren Kierkegaard and of Saint Ignacio de Loyola, among others, author made a deep foray into the existential problems of contemporary man, radically distancing himself from the Aristotelian prime mover and affirming the spiritual need to believe in a personal God.
