Performance Gaps Of Machines written by Wilhelm Nüßer and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-01-18 with Technology & Engineering categories.

In this publication a widespread phenomenon is studied: in many usage scenarios modern complex machines show a significant difference between the maximum sustainable performance available in well specified environments and the average performance many users experience in their everyday interaction with the machine. This performance gap appears to be increasing with technical progress and performance of machines. Although this situation is probably well known to many readers -- and very often not so quietly endured -- it was not studied systematically so far. This publication describes the conceptual background of the performance gap in a very general way. It develops a semi-quantitative description and points to approaches to reduce the performance gap in current and future environments. Process executives, engineers and system analysts will hopefully benefit from this approach especially in the dynamic environments envisioned in initiatives like the German Industrie 4.0. In the technology network Intelligent Technical Systems OstWestfalenLippe (short: it’s OWL) around 200 companies, universities, research institutions and organisations have joined forces to jointly shape the innovative leap from mechatronics to intelligent technical systems. Together they develop approaches and technologies for intelligent products and production processes, smart services and the working world of the future. The spectrum ranges from automation and drive solutions to machines, vehicles, automats and household appliances to networked production plants and platforms. This creates a unique technology platform that enables companies to increase the reliability, resource efficiency and user-friendliness of their products and production systems and tap the potential of digital transformation.

Theory Of Technical Systems written by Vladimir Hubka and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book presents a comprehensive and unifying theory to promote the under standing of technical systems. Such a theory is useful as a foundation for a ratio nal approach to the engineering design process, as a background to engineering education, and other applications. The term "technical system" is used to represent all types of man-made artifacts, including technical products and processes. The technical system is therefore the subject (in the grammatical sense of the word) of the collection of activities which are performed by engineers within the processes of engineering design, including generating, retrieving, processing and transmitting of information about products. It is also the subject of various tasks in the production process, including work preparation and production planning, and in many economic considerations, company-internal and societal. In this way, the Theory of Technical Systems is a contribution to science, as in terpreted in the wider, Germanic sense of a "co-ordinated and codified body of knowledge". It brings together the various viewpoints of engineers, scientists, economists, ergonomists, managers, users, sociologists, etc., and shows where and how they influence the forms of engineering products. It also explains the influ ences that a product exerts on its environment. This Theory of Technical Systems should thus interest design engineers, and en gineers involved in production, management, sales, etc. In an interdisciplinary ap plication of value analysis, the Theory of Technical Systems should provide answers to many questions raised in this field.

The Governance Of Large Technical Systems written by Olivier Coutard and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-01-04 with Business & Economics categories.

This work examines the governance of large technical systems (LTS) at firm, imdustry and state levels and the interactions between the systems and society. In particular, international contributors explore the implications of major technological , economic and social changes during the last twenty years for traditional forms of LTS governance. Their research is centred around the following themes: * traditional forms of governance * new regulatory challenges * the governability of complex technologies * conceptual issues related to the governance of inter-organizational networks

Machine Learning For Cyber Physical Systems written by Oliver Niggemann and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-02-19 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The work presents new approaches to Machine Learning for Cyber Physical Systems, experiences and visions. It contains some selected papers from the international Conference ML4CPS – Machine Learning for Cyber Physical Systems, which was held in Lemgo, October 1-2, 2015. Cyber Physical Systems are characterized by their ability to adapt and to learn: They analyze their environment and, based on observations, they learn patterns, correlations and predictive models. Typical applications are condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, image processing and diagnosis. Machine Learning is the key technology for these developments.

BWMMS. In line with our aim to encourage international contributions, we have introduced the concept of the Focus Track to allow for a dedicated track of high impact research presentations on a specific topic in human factors. This year’s Focus Track centered on mobile brain/body imaging and neuroadaptive technology. Here, the focus was on the use of psychophysiological data for Human-Machine Systems. Two invited keynote lectures have provided a deepened insight into this new research area during this Berlin Workshop. Besides the new Focus Track, the well-established mixture of Research-, Workshop-, and Poster Tracks allowed for presentations and lively discussions research projects from all areas of human factors. This conference proceeding comprises all presented papers at the 11th BWMMS.
