The God revealed in the Bible loves us and has a wonderful plan for us. For us to experience God's nearness, we must have a right understanding of who He is. Today's world offers many alternative "gods" to whom we can pray: Allah, Buddha, a Higher Power, and even our "higher self"! There is only one true God and He exists as Three Persons in One, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We accept by faith what the Bible tells us about God and that He sent His Son to die for us on the cross so we may have an intimate and right relationship with God.The Holy Spirit is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. He possesses all of the attributes of God.

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Azusa Street in 1906 marked the beginning of the Pentecostal movement in America. While many young believers have heard stories about the Azusa Street outpouring, they have not personally encountered the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Having grown up in a rapidly changing society with the continual impact of social media and rapid technological advances, young believers have knowledge without experience—which has always characterized the understanding of the Holy Spirit. This research identifies and evaluates the lived experience of young adults who are new believers and devote four weeks to seeking the transforming power and presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives. This research obtains and evaluates the data through a mixed-method approach and incorporates a phenomenological approach. The study functioned with a basic schedule primarily led by participants. As a phenomenological study, the researcher facilitated the plan with the objective observer safeguarding any possible bias, but the participants lead the nightly gatherings. Each evening, four nights a week for four weeks, the participants joined for dinner, prayer, discussion, worship, and communion. Gatherings lasted ninety minutes. The participants were expected to attend church on Sunday and Wednesday; Saturday was a day of rest. The participants agreed to keep a daily journal to document the changes they experienced during the study. Based on the participants’ life experiences in the focus group and the literature review, authentic spiritual community provides the context in which young adults who are new believers can personally experience the power of the Holy Spirit. Genuine spiritual community unveiled the characterizations of vulnerability, openness, expectation, and freedom. As time progressed, participants became more aware of God, walked in greater faith, and allowed the gifts of the Holy Spirit to manifest. The unity participants experienced permitted the Holy Spirit to work in and through them. The transformation became visible in their thoughts, feelings, words, and actions. This research did not reveal dramatically new information, but rather reaffirmed the importance of a Biblical model of community as the key to experiencing the move of God in the twenty-first century. This study calls believers to return to former motives and practices to authentically minister to the present generation of young adults.

Outrageous Love Transforming Power written by Terry Wardle and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-05 with Christian life categories.

Author Terry Wardle presents compelling evidence that countless churches are made up of, and in many cases even led by, men and women who seem perpetually caught in spiritual infancy - and it is having a devastating effect upon their lives and the ministry of the gospel to a broken world. The author contends that the heart of the problem rests with our concept of Christian maturity. How that one issue is defined directly impacts the way in which a person seeks to grow and develop in the Christian experience. Many Christians, including church leaders, think that being a mature Christian means believing the right things about Jesus and the faith, behaving like Jesus in daily living, and serving as Jesus did within the Church and world. As a result, a great deal of attention is given to knowing what to believe, how to behave properly, and where to get appropriately involved in Christian service. Sermons are preached, classes are taught, books are written, and ministries are formed to move people toward greater levels of understanding, action, and service. Unfortunately, with this paradigm in place, maturity is measured by a person's movement toward this inappropriately defined end. What does it mean to be a mature Christian then? It has far more to do with what kind of person you are, than what you do. In this book the author explores this question and highlights the foundational qualities that Jesus possessed the point to the standard for Christian maturity.
