The Land is the Source of Law brings an inter-jurisdictional dimension to the field of indigenous jurisprudence: comparing Indigenous legal regimes in New Zealand, the USA and Australia, it offers a ‘dialogical encounter with an Indigenous jurisprudence’ in which individuals are characterised by their rights and responsibilities into the Land. Though a relatively "new" field, indigenous jurisprudence is the product of the oldest continuous legal system in the world. Utilising a range of texts – films, novels, poetry, as well as "law stories" CF Black blends legality and narrative in order to redefine jurisprudentia in indigenous terms. This re-definition gives shape to the jurisprudential framework of the book: a shape that is not just abstract, but physical and metaphysical; a shape that is circular and concentric at the same time. The outer circle is the cosmology, so that the human never forgets that they are inside a universe – a universe that has a law. This law is found in the second circle which, whilst resembling the ancient Greek law of physis is a law based on relationship. This is a relationship that orders the placing of the individual in the innermost circle, and which structures their rights and responsibilities into the land. The jurisprudential texts which inform the theoretical framework of this book bring to our attention the urgent message that the Djang (primordial energy) is out of balance, and that the rebalancing of that Djang is up to the individual through their lawful behaviour, a behaviour which patterns them back into land. Thus, The Land is the Source of the Law concludes not only with a diagnosis of the cause of climate change, but a prescription which offers an alternative legal approach to global health.

Is International Law International written by Anthea Roberts and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017 with Law categories.

This book takes the reader on a sweeping tour of the international legal field to reveal some of the patterns of difference, dominance, and disruption that belie international law's claim to universality. Pulling back the curtain on the "divisible college of international lawyers," Anthea Roberts shows how international lawyers in different states, regions, and geopolitical groupings are often subject to distinct incoming influences and outgoing spheres of influence in ways that reflect and reinforce differences in how they understand and approach international law. These divisions manifest themselves in contemporary controversies, such as debates about Crimea and the South China Sea. Not all approaches to international law are created equal, however. Using case studies and visual representations, the author demonstrates how actors and materials from some states and groups have come to dominate certain transnational flows and forums in ways that make them disproportionately influential in constructing the "international." This point holds true for Western actors, materials, and approaches in general, and for Anglo-American (and sometimes French) ones in particular. However, these patterns are set for disruption. As the world moves past an era of Western dominance and toward greater multipolarity, it is imperative for international lawyers to understand the perspectives and approaches of those coming from diverse backgrounds. By taking readers on a comparative tour of different international law academies and textbooks, the author encourages them to see the world through the eyes of others -- an essential skill in this fast changing world of shifting power dynamics and rising nationalism.

Love Is The Law written by Marieta Oslanec, Esq. and has been published by LITL Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10-22 with Self-Help categories.

It took me 16 years to understand that in order to find true love, happiness, peace and abundance, I needed to go within. During those years, I experienced several painful breakups and went from one relationship to another, only to realize that the most important love is self-love. The most painful break-up was the beginning of my life-long love story. I moved from Slovakia to the USA with only 700 USD and without speaking a word of English. I put myself through law school and became a licensed attorney in New York. Nobody would hire me, so I started my own company and hired myself. I then decided to challenge myself further and travel the world solo. I spent 30 days in complete silence, in meditation retreats throughout Bali, Nepal, and Hawaii. During this period, I faced my deepest fears and came to discover that they were only illusions. The truth is, many of our fears are not real, they are just our ego trying to protect us. What is real is love, and that is our “higher self”. The Universe is governed by the ultimate Law that is Love, and when we all collectively raise our consciousness, we will be able to create a new world. In this book you will learn how to: - Heal a broken heart and fall in love with yourself - Change a limiting money mindset and attract abundance - Discover your purpose and start a purpose driven business - Meditate and tap into your higher self - Create a healthy relationship with your body & embrace your beauty - Activate your inner genius & step into your power In order to live in this new world, every one of us must awaken and do the inner work. The new reality is within you, yearning to be awakened. The question is, are you ready? About the Author Marieta Oslanec is a successful attorney, author, serial entrepreneur and intuitive business coach. She is the founder of ImmigrationBiz PLLC and ImmigrationBiz Academy, where she has helped many foreign entrepreneurs start profitable businesses in the US and live the American Dream. By combining both her intuition and business skills acquired over the years, she has been coaching female entrepreneurs towards starting their own purpose driven, wildly profitable business. Marieta is originally from Slovakia and moved to the United States when she was twenty-four years old to follow her dream. Marieta’s mission is to empower people by raising their consciousness by applying the 21 universal laws in her book, Love is the Law. Visit www.marietaoslanec.com and www.loveisthelaw.com for more information. Praise When I first heard Marieta share the title of her book I thought “that’s brilliant!” How perfect that a lawyer writes a book about how love is the ultimate law. Marieta and her journey to discovering 21 laws, leading to the ultimate law of love, is a beautiful story of self-discovery. Through reading this book, you will gain a greater understanding of the tremendous power you have in your own life to create greater joy, peace, health, wealth, and above all, love. With this understanding, you hold the key to self-transformation. If individually we all take this key and open the door to self-love, together, we will shift the global consciousness. The purpose of a forward can be many things, and I hope that with this forward you felt inspired and invited to take a closer look; then go beyond reading words and concepts to open your mind and heart and enter the space between words, beyond knowledge, to Spirit, where Love is the Law. When Paul wrote that we are justified by faith apart from "works of the law" what did he mean? Matthew J. Why The Law Is So Perverse written by Leo Katz and has been published by University of Chicago Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-09 with Law categories.

"Katz focuses on four fundamental features of our legal system, all of which seem to not make sense on some level and to demand explanation. First, legal decisions are essentially made in an either/or fashion... Second, the law is full of loopholes... Third, legal systems are loath to punish certain kinds of highly immoral conduct while prosecuting other far less pernicious behaviors... Finally, why does the law often prohibit what are sometimes called win-win transactions, such as organ sales or surrogacy contracts?" - from the University of Chicago Press press release

Does the Bible have laws that govern us on trespass, torts, duty, adoption, marriage, divorce, inheritance, contracts, redemption and witnesses? Why was trespass so important in the Bible and under the common law? Are covenants and contracts the same? What is the difference between legal, moral and spiritual duty? Does the law require us to pay for wrongs other commit? What does the Old Testament, Jesus and Paul say about divorce? Can we inherit from God? In the Bible property had to be redeemed and people in servitude had to be redeemed. What was Boas’ redemption and marriage to Ruth important to Jesus?

Informed Choice Of Medical Services Is The Law Just written by Marj Milburn and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-29 with Social Science categories.

This title was first published in 2001. This work is a uniquely multi-disciplinary contribution to the existing bioethical literature on the topic of informed choice of medical services. It is also the first comprehensive bioethical text to confront the central issue of power in the clinical encounter and to argue for statutory protection of the right to informed choice. While the majority of bioethicists argue for a conciliatory, rather than adversarial, approach to the chronic problem of uninformed consent, the author of this work argues that the external regulation of medicine is essential if the right to informed choice is to be protected. This argument is based upon an extensive review of the bioethical, legal, political, medical, sociological and philosophical literature, as well as a wide range of empirical and anecdotal evidence, evolving from a detailed exploration of power and the limits of rationality in the clinical encounter.
