Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Individuum, Gruppe, Gesellschaft, Note: 1,3, Universität Trier, Veranstaltung: Geheimnis und Geheimhaltung, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit trägt den Titel "Der Geheimbund der Freimaurer und ihre Gegner". Zunächst werde ich den Titel erläutern. Geheimbünde sind Gemeinschaften, deren Strukturen und Zielvorstellungen gegenüber Nichteingeweihten geheim gehalten werden. Ein wichtiges Merkmal dieser Organisationen sind Initiationsriten. Der Geheimbund der Freimaurer entstand im 17. Jahrhundert und tritt für Freiheit, Brüderlichkeit und Toleranz ein. Ziel der Vereinigung ist die ethische Vervollkommnung ihrer Mitglieder. In der gesamten Geschichte wurden die Freimaurer von verschiedenen Gegnern unterdrückt. Sie wurden aufgrund ihres Freiheitsverständnisses besonders unter der Herrschaft von totalitären und absolutistischen Regimen verfolgt. Ihre Geheimhaltung wurde immer wieder kritisiert. Die Kirche erklärte aus verschiedenen Gründen, auf die ich später näher eingehen werde, die Unvereinbarkeit der Freimaurerei mit der Kirche. Die Freimaurer wurden besonders zur Zeit des Nationalsozialismus verfolgt und verboten. Es entstanden Verschwörungstheorien. Juden und Freimaurer wurden z. B. für das Versagen der Deutschen im Ersten Weltkrieg verantwortlich gemacht. Im Folgenden werde ich auf den Aufbau meiner Hausarbeit näher eingehen. Einleitend stelle ich den Begriff "Geheimbünde" allgemein dar. Daraufhin beantworte ich die Frage: "Was ist Freimaurerei?" Hierbei gebe ich einen kurzen Überblick über die Struktur und Überzeugungen dieser Organisation. Dann werde ich die Entstehung und Entwicklung der Freimaurerei darlegen. Die Anfänge der Freimaurer liegen in England in den Steinmetzgilden. Diese Vereinigung breitete sich schnell in ganz Europa aus. Danach gehe ich auf die freimaurerische Anthropologie ein.
