Trotz jahrzehntelanger Partikelforschung seit den bahnbrechenden Arbeiten von Krivonosov und Weydt gibt es bis heute kein größeres Wörterbuch, ob ein- oder zweisprachig, in dem die Partikeln und partikelähnlichen Wörter der deutschen Sprache eingehend, umfassend und korpusbasiert beschrieben würden. Diese Lücke zu schließen ist Aufgabe dieses deutsch-französischen Wörterbuchs, das damit auch einen Beitrag zum Vergleich und tieferen Verständnis der beiden Sprachen liefert. Das Wörterbuch beruht auf einem Korpus von über 350 Werken aus Literatur, Presse und gesprochener Sprache. Die behandelten Wörter und Wortkombinationen werden aufgrund von strikt angelegten Kriterien verschiedenen Funktionsklassen zugeordnet. Die Beschreibung erfasst sowohl syntaktische als auch semantisch-pragmatische und prosodische Aspekte. Sie erfolgt ohne unnötigen Fachjargon. Ambiguitäten, Zuordnungsproblemen sowie der Abgrenzung von synonymen Partikeln wird besondere Beachtung geschenkt.
