On April 23, 1971, fourteen-year-old Mickel's mother, Roberta (Howe) Millard, was murdered by her estranged husband. It was the culmination of years of violence and abuse. From that day on, for thirty years, Mickel?s life spun out of control as his unresolved anger led to alcoholism, broken marriages, and trouble with the law. Just when all hope was lost and he was in total despair, Mickel surrendered his life to the Lord. 'Murder And God's Redeeming Love' is a true story hitting at the heart of a serious social & economical problem not only here but around the world. I share the story of our mother's tragic death; the abuse her six children would suffer at the hands of their father, yet the most important aspect of this publication is the life application principles that can lead it's readers to a new found hope and healing.

#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER • NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE • The classic story that has captured the hearts of millions worldwide: a tragically wounded soul, the man called to marry her, and the only love that heals all. “A literary masterpiece, reminding us that God’s love is unconditional.”—Debbie Macomber California’s gold country, 1850. A time when men sold their souls for a bag of gold and women sold their bodies for a place to sleep. Angel expects nothing from men but betrayal. Sold into prostitution as a child, she survives by keeping her hatred alive. And what she hates most are the men who use her, leaving her empty and dead inside. Then she meets Michael Hosea, a man who seeks his Father’s heart in everything. Michael obeys God’s call to marry Angel and to love her unconditionally. Slowly, day by day, he defies Angel’s every bitter expectation, until despite her resistance, her frozen heart begins to thaw. But with her unexpected softening comes overwhelming feelings of unworthiness and fear. And so Angel runs. Back to the darkness, away from her husband’s pursuing love, terrified of the truth she no longer can deny: her final healing must come from the One who loves her even more than Michael does . . . the One who will never let her go. A powerful retelling of the story of Gomer and Hosea, Redeeming Love is a life-changing story of God’s unconditional, redemptive, all-consuming love. Includes a six-part reading group guide!

A delightful new western romance from the New York Times bestselling author of Redeeming Love New York Times bestselling author Francine Rivers returns to the California frontier in this sweeping, romantic tale of a displaced New England suffragette, a former Union soldier disinherited by his Southern family, and the town they join forces to save. 1875. When Kathryn Walsh arrives in tiny Calvada, a mining town nestled in the Sierra Nevadas, falling in love is the farthest thing from her mind. Banished from Boston by her wealthy stepfather, she has come to claim an inheritance from the uncle she never knew: a defunct newspaper office on a main street overflowing with brothels and saloons, and a seemingly worthless mine. Moved by the oppression of the local miners and their families, Kathryn decides to relaunch her uncle's newspaper--and then finds herself in the middle of a maelstrom, pitted against Calvada's most powerful men. But Kathryn intends to continue to say--and publish--whatever she pleases, especially when she knows she's right. Matthias Beck, owner of a local saloon and hotel, has a special interest in the new lady in town. He instantly recognizes C. T. Walsh's same tenacity in the beautiful and outspoken redhead--and knows all too well how dangerous that family trait can be. While Kathryn may be right about Calvada's problems, her righteousness could also get her killed. But when the handsome hotelier keeps finding himself on the same side of the issues as the opinionated Miss Walsh, Matthias's restless search for purpose becomes all about answering the call of his heart. Everyone may be looking to strike it rich in this lawless boomtown, but it's a love more precious than gold that will ultimately save them all.

Ever say, “No one feels like me or understands what I’m feeling.” Ever ask, “Why me, Lord?” If these words are familiar, you’re not alone. Beginning with Eve, women are women. God’s blueprint for us has not changed, nor will it. That’s why this study is so exciting. In it, you will discover the women of the Bible are just like us! Without exception, they had plans, hopes, and dreams. They loved, laughed, and cried. They feared, sacrificed, and nurtured. They experienced good times and bad. Some had kids; some didn’t. Some were married, some weren’t. Some were wholesome while others were decadent. They experienced significant victories and shameful defeats, all of them. That’s why their stories seem familiar; these women are like us! The Bible proves that although flawed and frail, ordinary messy women were useful to our extraordinary God. Why? Because he redeemed them, the whole of their lives—the good, the bad, and the ugly. He didn’t leave one of them the way he found them. He won’t leave us lonely, unforgiven, or despairing either! If you fret, feel worn and weary; look pretty on the outside but feel pretty flawed and frail on the inside; or if sin surrounds you, this study is for you. God is into women! He loves us and makes all things new through his redeeming love! Anne is a missionary and graduate of Metro Atlanta Seminary. She is the co-founder of Open Heavens Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit discipleship ministry established in 2004. Its mission is growing others in faith and practice through the study of God’s Word. Death As Transformation written by Dr Henry L Novello and has been published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-06-28 with Religion categories.

A key tenet of Christian faith is that the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is a unique death by which the powers of death in the world have been conquered, so that Christian life in the Spirit is marked by the promise and hope of 'new life' already anticipated in the community of baptized believers. Notwithstanding this basic tenet regarding the Christian life as a participation in the redemptive death of Jesus Christ, theology in the past, as well as much contemporary theology, tends to assign no salvific significance to the event of our own death, focusing instead on death in negative terms as the wages of sin. This work is a significant retort to theological neglect, both Catholic and Protestant, of the positive and transformative aspect of our death when conceived as a dying into the redemptive death of Jesus Christ. The development of Henry L. Novello's proposed theology of death takes place in conversation with the pre-eminent contemporary contributors to this field of theological inquiry. By offering comprehensive critiques of Karl Rahner, Hans Urs von Balthasar, Karl Barth, Eberhard Jüngel and Jürgen Moltmann, Novello painstakingly pieces together a positive construal of death as salvific and transformative. What is especially distinctive about Novello's work is that he develops the idea of death as a sharing in the 'admirable exchange of natures' in the person of Jesus Christ, from which emerges his theory of resurrection at death for all. The reach of the work is extended by exploring some pastoral and liturgical implications of a theology of death conceived as the privileged moment for the actualization of God's grace in Jesus Christ, and thus being created anew in the power of the Spirit.

Will all evil finally turn to good, or does some evil remain stubbornly opposed to God and God's goodness? Will even the devil be redeemed? Addressing a theological issue of perennial interest, this comprehensive book (in two volumes) surveys the history of Christian universalism from the second to the twenty-first century and offers an interpretation of how and why universalist belief arose. The author explores what the church has taught about universal salvation and hell and critiques universalism from a biblical, philosophical, and theological standpoint. He shows that the effort to extend grace to everyone undermines the principle of grace for anyone.
