Sarah shares how vaccines impacted her son Evan and caused him to have autism. She shares how a combination of the MMR vaccine along with environmental issues, and genetics have contributed to Evan's autism. Sarah encourages parents to vaccinate even though it could cause autism because the benefits out weigh the downside. Sarah shares how she is finding her son after losing him to vaccines. Sarah feels like we are giving our children with autism too many vaccines at too young of an age. She talks about how the MMR vaccine made Evan sick and caused him to lose some of the developmental milestones that he was already hitting before he received the vaccines. Evan used to have a great smile and really look Sarah in the eye. Now that is something that we have to work really hard on with Evan just to get him to look in our eyes or to even smile. Those things do not seem to happen naturally anymore after receiving the MMR vaccine. This is a great educational book for parents and educators looking to understand how vaccines contribute to autism spectrum disorder.

A Bad Reaction written by Sarah Bridges and has been published by Skyhorse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-03-15 with Health & Fitness categories.

A mother’s story of raising an autistic son, navigating the vaccine court, and confronting the widespread denial of a link between vaccines and autism. At four months old, Porter Bridges went in for his well-baby checkup and received an array of vaccines. That night he spiked a 105-degree fever and had a two-hour grand mal seizure. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors struggled to stabilize him while his family paced the halls waiting to hear if he was conscious. Though no one could know it at the time, Porter’s hospitalization marked the start of a terrifying and tragic decline in his health and the health of his family. And while the effects of Porter’s reaction would take years to fully develop, the cause was never in doubt—Porter’s hospital record reads, “Brain injury from pertussis vaccine.” Cognitive dissonance is the psychology term for that queasy feeling we get when things just don’t line up. Here are the facts: Porter is a healthy infant one moment and has brain damage the next. The CDC says vaccines are always safe, but the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program awards Porter’s family millions of dollars to pay for his pertussis injury. The CDC sends a press release saying vaccines never cause autism. That afternoon, government funds pay for Porter’s autism therapy. He goes three times a week. A Bad Reaction is a personal journey—sometimes painful, sometimes funny. It confronts the dissonance between what the government tells us about the vaccine-autism link and its secret payments compensating the vaccine-injured. It tackles broader issues such as individual versus government responsibility, the conflicts of interest in vaccination-safety research, and the balance of individual and collective good. Vaccines hold the special distinction of being the only mandated drugs all children receive and have saved innumerable lives. They also have safety risks. This book is about one of those “negative outcomes.” His name is Porter. Skyhorse Publishing, along with our Arcade, Good Books, Sports Publishing, and Yucca imprints, is proud to publish a broad range of biographies, autobiographies, and memoirs. Our list includes biographies on well-known historical figures like Benjamin Franklin, Nelson Mandela, and Alexander Graham Bell, as well as villains from history, such as Heinrich Himmler, John Wayne Gacy, and O. J. Simpson. We have also published survivor stories of World War II, memoirs about overcoming adversity, first-hand tales of adventure, and much more. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times bestseller or a national bestseller, we are committed to books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.

The Vaccine Court written by Wayne Rohde and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-11-11 with Health & Fitness categories.

A hard look at the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program and the families desperately trying to navigate their way through it. The Vaccine Court looks at the mysterious and often unknown world of the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP), the only recourse for seeking compensation for those who have been injured by a vaccine. The NVICP, better known as the ”Vaccine Court,” however, is not without controversy. Established by Congress as a direct result of the passage of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, the NVICP was supposed to offer a no-fault alternative to the traditional injury claims filed in state or federal courts and was to provide quick, efficient, and fair compensation for those who have been injured by vaccines. The reality, however, is that many cases take several years or longer to complete and require tremendous commitment from families already pushed to the brink of bankruptcy caring for the vaccine-injured family member, only to discover that the end result is manipulated by the government in defense of the US vaccine policy. Mr. Rohde looks into the inner workings of the US Federal Claims Court and the NVICP. He interviews families who have filed petitions and won compensation, families who have been denied compensation, and families still waiting for a decision. By highlighting the journeys of these families—their efforts to find attorneys willing to represent them, the filing of their petitions, and the subsequent mountain of paperwork, medical records, and other documents that span years—Mr. Rohde exposes the bitter truth behind the NVICP. Through his thoughtful interviews and fact-finding research, The Vaccine Court sheds light on how the NVICP has evolved into something far more treacherous than what Congress envisioned with the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act in 1986.
