La maladie d'Alzheimer est la première cause de démence avec plus de 225 000 nouveaux cas diagnostiqués en France chaque année. Les symptômes cognitifs de la maladie sont bien connus avec notamment des atteintes de la mémoire et du langage. Mais au-delà de ces troubles du langage, le malade souffre d'un réel trouble de la communication. Les proches sont les premiers concernés par ces manifestations au quotidien, sources d'incompréhension et de souffrances. Face à un proche qui change, la relation s'étiole et la communication peut tendre à disparaître. Nous nous sommes interrogés sur l'intérêt d'informer les proches sur les troubles de la communication. Notre démarche nous a amené, après analyse de la littérature, à proposer une enquête préliminaire auprès de 20 aidants naturels. Nos résultats ont mis en évidence un manque d'information écrite, concise et pratique sur les troubles de la ! communication dans cette pathologie et la nécessité de création d'un document sur ce sujet. Afin de répondre à ce besoin, nous avons crée une brochure d'information dont nous avons démontré la pertinence et la légitimité via une enquête de satisfaction. Ce document sera mis à disposition des professionnels de santé, une réflexion est en cours pour une publication plus large sur internet.

Le glaucome est une maladie dégénérative du nerf optique qui entraîne une perte progressive de la vision commençant tout d'abord en périphérie et progressant graduellement vers le centre. Cette maladie est souvent associée à une pression intra-oculaire (PIO) élevée qui comprime et endommage les fibres du nerf optique et de la rétine. Dans d'autres cas, malgré une PIO normale, une circulation sanguine inadéquate entraîne la mort (nécrose) des cellules du nerf optique et de la rétine. La perte de vision associée au glaucome est permanente et irréversible. Sans traitement, cette maladie peut mener jusqu'à la cécité. Le glaucome est une maladie fréquente puisqu'il atteint 2 % de la population totale en France. Ce sujet de santé publique fera l'objet du rapport annuel de la SFO en 2014. Le rapport abordera: - les bases fondamentales et cliniques; - la prise en charge thérapeutique; - les aspects socio-économiques et juridiques; - le dépistage et les incidences en terme de santé publique.
