Biological disease management tactics have emerged as potential alternative to chemical application for containing crop diseases. Biotic and abiotic biological control agents (BCAs) have been demonstrated to be effective against diseases caused by microbial plant pathogens. Combination of biotic and abiotic agents leads to synergism and consequent improvement in the effectiveness of disease control. It is essential to assay the biocontrol potential of all isolates/species of fungal, bacterial and viral biocontrol agents by different techniques in vitro and under greenhouse and field conditions and to precisely identify and differentiate the most effective isolates from less effective ones by employing biological, immunological and nucleic acid-based assays.

Como nos enseña Armando Silva, se trata de la conjunción de un sujeto (la familia), un medio de documentación (la fotografía) y un medio de organización y archivo (el álbum). Esta conjunción se confabula para preservar y a la vez representar un relato, una narrativa de un pasado colectivo, selectivo y añorado. Desde sus inicios, la fotografía ha validado, por su naturaleza ontológicamente indicial, la existencia de lo pasado. La imagen fotográfica documenta, atestigua, fuera de toda duda, sobre la existencia del ser, replicando el noema barthesiano: eso existió, eso fue así. Gracias a la fotografía, en las próximas páginas nos adentraremos en ese vórtice del tiempo, a través de esos patios y balcones, tras el rastro de la memoria y los recuerdos de la familia Brunet-Calaf del Manatí de principios de siglo XX.

While topics such as death, funerary cult, and the netherworld have received considerable scholarly attention in the context of the Ugaritic textual corpus, the related concept of life has been relatively neglected. Life and Mortality in Ugaritic takes as its premise that one cannot grasp the significance of mwt (“to die”) without first having wrestled with the concept of ḥyy (“to live”). In this book, Matthew McAffee takes a lexical approach to the study of life and death in the Ugaritic textual corpus. He identifies and analyzes the Ugaritic terms most commonly used to talk about life and mortality in order to construct a more representative framework of the ancient perspective on these topics, and he concludes by synthesizing the results of this lexical study into a broader literary discussion that considers, among other things, the implications for our understanding of the first-millennium Katumuwa stele from Zincirli. McAffee’s study complements previous scholarly work in this area, which has tended to rely on conceptual and theoretical treatment of mortality, and advances the discussion by providing a more focused lexical analysis of the Ugaritic terms in question. It will be of interest to Semitic scholars and those who study Ugaritic in particular, in addition to students of the culture of the ancient Levant.

"On January 2011, Manystuff presented the exhibition "Kunstkammer, The representation of an amateur wonder-room" at 12MAIL gallery in Paris. Using representations of amateur wonder-rooms of the 17th century as a starting point, the exhibition was a graphic design posters amateur/collector room (the collection of Charlotte Cheetham) - as in a private interior, walls were covered by an accumulation of juxtaposed paintings with no hierarchy, frame against frame, from the floor to the ceiling - and also included a wonder-room (curiosities cabinet) with silkscreen commissioned posters. The idea was to work on the 'ideal museum', as these representations of amateur wonder-rooms sometimes combined fiction and reality: an imaginary décor, copies of masterpieces and hybrid collections. With the publication published by OMMU, the purpose was to compose a compendium of paintings that inspired this exhibition: from Kunstkammers to Cabinet of Curiosities representations, and finishing with the vanities paintings. To give form to this compendium, to design the trace of this documentation, Charlotte Cheetham worked with Pierre Vanni who make the publication a graphic curiosity itself.
