Dincolo de valoarea sa de lucrare de referinta continand date importante privind evolutia literaturii noastre, dictionarul este si un model de lectura si valorificare a mostenirii culturale, inscriindu-se printre cele mai remarcabile si mai solide lucrari ale ultimelor decenii si alaturandu-se marilor opere lexicografice/istoriografice care situeaza Clujul in fruntea intreprinderilor de acest fel realizate in Romania. Petrescu, Liviu Petrescu, Horea Poenar, Ion Pop, Cornel Robu, Lionel Decebal Rosca, Octavian Șchiau, Calin Teutisan, Mihaela Ursa, Ion Vartic, Vasile Voia etc.) e de bun augur, caci e vorba de cititori exemplari, de nume de prim rang ale criticii si istoriei literare romanesti sau de tineri expresivi si probi.
