Veritabila biblioteca intr-o carte, Dictionarul analitic de opere literare romanesti comenteaza, la curent cu bibliografia de ultima ora si cu cele mai noi instrumente critice, operele reprezentative ale literaturii romane de la inceputuri si pana in imediata contemporaneitate. Dincolo de valoarea sa de lucrare de referinta continand date importante privind evolutia literaturii noastre, dictionarul este si un model de lectura si valorificare a mostenirii culturale, inscriindu-se printre cele mai remarcabile si mai solide lucrari ale ultimelor decenii si alaturandu-se marilor opere lexicografice/istoriografice care situeaza Clujul in fruntea intreprinderilor de acest fel realizate in Romania. Dictionarul lucreaza selectiv, cu o exigenta ghidata in principal de criteriul valorii estetice, dar nu lasa deoparte nici operele semnificative ca reper istorico-literar. Analitic fiind, dictionarul nu se rezuma la furnizarea de informatie, ci adauga datelor de istorie literara (geneza, variante, editii etc.) si o interpretare, un comentariu critic complex si avizat, atent la mesajul operei, la situarea sa in opera intreaga a unui anume scriitor, dar si in literatura romana si in spatiul larg la literelor universale. Comentariul se sprijina pe o bibliografie impresionanta si adauga referinte critice, un indice de nume/opere/autori, de mare utilitate. Libertatea metodologica si stilistica acordata autorilor articolelor din dictionar (Georgeta Antonescu, Leon Baconsky, Ștefan Borbély, Ioana Bot, Nicolae Bot, Corin Braga, Cornel Capusan, Sanda Cordos, Doina Curticapeanu, Sergiu Pavel Dan, Vasile Fanache, Ovidiu Mircean, Mircea Muthu, Laura Pavel, Gheorghe Perian, Ioana Em. Petrescu, Liviu Petrescu, Horea Poenar, Ion Pop, Cornel Robu, Lionel Decebal Rosca, Octavian Șchiau, Calin Teutisan, Mihaela Ursa, Ion Vartic, Vasile Voia etc.) e de bun augur, caci e vorba de cititori exemplari, de nume de prim rang ale criticii si istoriei literare romanesti sau de tineri expresivi si probi. Text Analysis in Translation has become a classic in Translation Studies.
