Know Ye Not This Parable Synopsis Know ye not this parable? And how then will ye know all parables? The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the wayside, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time; afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. Mark 4:13-19 The above scripture is the basis for this novel that is targeted toward the religious/inspirational fictional genre. The story centers on its two main characters, Cassandra and Jazzrah. Cassandra is a thirty year old African American professional engineer from Detroit, Michigan. Having overcome numerous life obstacles (poverty, drugs, sickness, etc.) early in her life, Cassandra finally achieved success. Jazzrah began his life as a created angel in heaven. With his angelic brother Seth always at his side, Jazzrah enjoyed singing daily with the other angels. He sang praises every day until he encountered Bial, whose job was to spread Gods glory each morning by spreading his wings toward the rising sun. Sin set in when Bial became puffed up and started to believe that the glory came from him and not God. He successfully convinced a third of all of the angels, including Jazzrah, to abandon their assignments and follow him. For their sin against the Father, Bial and the other disobedient angels were expelled from their heavenly environment. On earth in his new environment, Jazzrah was charged with collecting the souls of one million women. Upon completing his assignment, he would be promoted in Bials earthy and wicked regime. The only boundary was that he had to identify the targeted soul at birth. He met Cassandra the day of her birth in Detroit and began planning immediately to collect her soul by throwing the five acts of deception outlined in the above scripture at her over the thirty year period. Affliction, persecution, cares of the world, deceitfulness of riches, and lusts were strategically employed to push Cassandra to the edge. On a cold December night Cassandra had finally reached the edge. No longer capable of dealing with life, Cassandra stands poised on a roof top ready to end her life. In the background on the roof, a silent witness ( Jazzrah ) watches in anticipation. As she takes one step forward, the remaining source of angelic goodness in Jazzrah sets off a war against his wickedness. The book chronicles the vents that brought Jazzrah and Cassandra together and resolves the spiritual conflict.

Anthony Culyer once again makes a significant contribution to health economics with a Dictionary that is succinct but also comprehensive. It will be particularly valuable to economists entering the health field and to health specialists who lack familiarity with terms originating in economics and statistics. Victor R. Fuchs, Stanford University, US Tony Culyer s Dictionary is a masterpiece; concise, erudite and authoritative. It will have special appeal to those (like me) who are interested, but not expert, in health economics. Sir Michael Rawlins, Chairman, NHS National Institute for Clinical Excellence, UK The trouble with most dictionaries to my mind is that frequently the definitions are as difficult to understand as the words one is looking up. The Dictionary of Health Economics by Tony Culyer suffers far less from this problem than others and thus it is much more accessible to the non-specialist. I am particularly taken with Tony s personal examples and vignettes attached to many of the definitions. These improve the comprehension of the definitions for the reader and add a personal touch which makes the book much more readable and less dry than other dictionaries. David Barnett, Chairman Appraisals Committee NICE, Department of Cardiovascular Sciences, Pharmacology & Therapeutics Group, Robert Kilpatrick CSB, Leicester Royal Infirmary, UK At last, a book that reveals in plain English the concepts and methods used by health economists. This book should make a major contribution to promoting multi-disciplinary research on health and health services, and enable students to get through the undergrowth of jargon that commonly turns them back. Nick Black, Health Services Research Unit, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK From Abscissa, through to the World Health Organization, this expansive Dictionary comprehensively covers the field of health economics and closely related fields including epidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, demography, medical sociology, medical statistics and bio-statistics, health policy, health administration and health service management, public health medicine and qualitative and quantitative research. Entries and definitions are provided for all key concepts listed with, in many cases, more extended entries on core or controversial ideas. Anthony Culyer has amassed a wealth of information and facts within these pages, and yet has not been reluctant to include comment on issues and ideas. This makes the Dictionary eminently readable and all the more interesting. This is a unique reference work and as such, The Dictionary of Health Economics will be a valuable reference tool for a wide audience encompassing not just health economists, but many specialists and researchers in other fields (social sciences and beyond) as well as policymakers.

We are Trading Away Our Future and most economists have been caught with their heads in the sand. They think that the trade deficits are the result of free market forces. But the trade deficits are caused by foreign government currency manipulations and the foolish subsidies that the US tax system gives to foreign savings. The American People know that something is wrong. They know that the Chinese and Japanese governments manipulate their currencies to steal American industries. They are intrigued by Governor Huckabee's endorsement of the Fair Tax, a proposal that would abolish the IRS, renew American investment, Strengthen the dollar, and help solve the trade deficits. If nothing is done, then resolutely nondemocratic China will replace the United States as the world's premier power. In this book the Richmans explain solutions that are within our grasp. It is not yet too late!

I Am Food written by Roger Corless and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-01-27 with Religion categories.

A basic spiritual commentary on the Mass, this book approaches the central Christian celebration from a combination of view points. Corless takes a personal approach to the Mass, but in the tradition of Teilhard de Chardin, he explores its cosmic setting. The symbolic significance of the parts of the Mass is seen within a Christian framework informed by the author's Buddhist experience. The Mass is a ritual of entry into a mandala; the participant experiences union with the God who resides at the heart of the mandala. Professor Corless explains that it is a lack not of relevance but of mystery that plagues men and women in churches today. In returning to an experience of mystery, mediated through symbol, suggestion, art, and ritual, we will find the Mass enlivened.
