Isinya Kitab kejadian sering dikaitkan dengan penemuan ilmu pengetahuan. Wajar saja, karena kitabini membahas kisah penciptaan. Kapan alam semesta dan manusia diciptakan? Apakah umur alam semesta dan manusia ini sudah mencapai ratusan jutaan tahun yang lalu? Di manakah letak Taman Eden itu sekarang? Kitab Kejadian menyebutkan ada empat sungai yang ada di taman tersebut, yaitu: Pison, Gihon, Efrat, dan Tigris. Dari keempat sungai ini, hanya ada dua sungai saja sampai sekarang, yaitu Sungai Efrat dan Sungai Tigris. Di mana letak yang dua sungai lainnya, Pison dan Gison? Hal yang lain sehubungan dengan "hari" yang disebut dalam kisah penciptaan, Allah menciptakan alam semesta dan segala isinya selama enam hari. Hari ke-7 Allah beristirahat. Apakah "hari" yang dimaksud di sini hari biasa yang satu hari ada 24 jam, atau ada makna yang lain, seperti periode atau zaman? Yang tidak kalah menarik, apakah peristiwa air bah itu mencakup seluruh bumi (dunia), atau hanya lokal saja? Seberapa besarkah bahtera Nuh sehingga dapat menampung seluruh jenis binatang yang ada? Belum lagi tentang as gasal mula bahasa manusia. Apakah dulunya bahasa yang ada itu hanya satu bahasa? Kalau satu bahasa, bahasa apakah yang pertama kali? Karena dalam Kejadian 11 mengisahkan pembangunan Menara Babel yang menjadi cikal-bakal dikacaukannya bahasa sehingga satu sama lain tidak saling mengerti dan berpencarlah manusia itu ke berbagai tempat. Masih banyak lagi kisah lainnya yang dibahas secara tematis yang menimbulkan rasa penasaran untuk mempelajarinya. Semua hal tersebut dikupas tuntas dalam buku ini dengan bahasa yang lugas dan sederhana sehingga mudah dipahami. Dr. Jonar T.H. Situmorang, M.A., M.Th., adalah seorang pendeta yang melayani di Gereja Ekklesia Full Gospel, Malang. Selain sebagai dosen di Bethesda International Seminary, Malang (sejak Agustus 1998) & di STA Jember (sejak Maret 2019), juga sebagai tenaga pendidik, mulai tingkat SD, SMP, dan SMK.
