This history of the Rainbow is a record of the accomplishments of every man who served in the Division. It is the story of his contribution to the safety and security of the people of his country and of the world. It is a history made possible not by individual achievement, but by the combined effort of all. It is natural in such a history as this that the action of the front line soldier is emphasized. While he deserves every bit of credit that it is possible to give him, he realizes that he was able to fight and win only because he was a member of a great fighting team in which thousands of men united to defeat the enemy.
