Demersseman was born in France and began studying at the Paris Conservatory at the age of 11 where he was a student of Jean - Louis Tulou. He was known as a Flute Virtuoso but also known as a composer for his instrument. Although he composed many virtuosic works for flute, the Italian Concerto is one of the most popular works. This work uses a Neapolitan folk melody in the middle movement and closes with a saltarello. The piece is for advanced players and contains up to 5 flats and 4 sharps. It was written as a solo concerto but can easily be used in concerts and recitals. Edited by Robert Cavally, this piece is often on many Solo and Ensemble advanced lists.

The Scoring Of Baroque Concertos written by C. R. F. Maunder and has been published by Boydell Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004 with Music categories.

Evidence indicates that the concertos of Vivaldi, Bach, Haydn etc were performed as chamber music, not the full orchestral works commonly assumed. The concertos of Vivaldi, Bach, Handel and their contemporaries are some of the most popular, and the most frequently performed, pieces of classical music; and the assumption has always been they were full orchestral works. This book takes issue with this orthodox opinion to argue quite the reverse: that contemporaries regarded the concerto as chamber music. The author surveys the evidence, from surviving printed and manuscript performance material, from concerts throughout Europe between 1685 and 1750 (the heyday of the concerto), demonstrating that concertos were nearly always played one-to-a-part at that time. He makes a particularly close study of the scoring of the bass line, discussing the question of what instruments were most appropriate and what was used when. The late Dr RICHARD MAUNDER was Fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge.

Structural Novelty And Tradition In The Early Romantic Piano Concerto written by Stephan D. Lindeman and has been published by Pendragon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999 with Juvenile Nonfiction categories.

Lindeman, a musicologist, traces and defines the historical development of the concerto form as it passed from Mozart to succeeding generations. He then assesses Beethoven's contributions, and examines the classical model of the form in the early 19th century by overviewing several early romantic composers' works. Subsequent chapters analyze and assess the responses of five precursers of Schumann, whose work offers a synthesis of radical experiments and traditional tenets. He concludes by suggesting that concertos of Lizst offer a road into further developments of the genre in the second half of the century. Illustrated with bandw portraits of composers and excerpts from musical scores. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
