Explore the modern concepts of client-server web applications. This book includes examples that are simple to comprehend building apps that are not much different from real-world applications. Each chapter develops a different subject, explaining the concept from A to Z, and provides a project with complete source code and configuration steps. Chapters also include thorough coverage of the subject described and the full source code is provided with a consistently updated repo on GitHub, accounting for the frequent changes made to language versions. The chapter apps use HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Apache, Lighttpd, SSL/TLS, DDNS, Shell Programming, Sockets programming, tools such as Wireshark, and remote online tools for testing. As you master each topic sequentially you'll fully understand the inner workings of the client-server apps and become confident in creating your own web-based apps. Whether you want to work on the web for fun, for school, or for work, Web-Based Projects that Rock the Class is a great place to start. What You'll Learn Use HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, AJAX and MySQL for web projects Set up and handle two different web servers Apache and Lighttpd Obtain DNS and DDNS domain names Apply the SSL/TLS protocols for HTTPS connections Test remotely with online tools your web app – then create similar toolsWho This Book Is For College and university students, and individuals interested in web programming. Ideally you will have basic experience in requesting a web page from the browser and understanding online services like e-shops, basic-level experience with Linux, knowledge of basic-level programming language principles, and basic knowledge of what a database is.

The goal of this book is to describe new concepts for Internet next generation. This architecture is based on virtual networking using Cloud and datacenters facilities. Main problems concern 1) the placement of virtual resources for opening a new network on the fly, and 2) the urbanisation of virtual resource implemented on physical network equipment. This architecture deals with mechanisms capable of controlling automatically the placement of all virtual resources within the physical network. In this book, we describe how to create and delete virtual networks on the fly. Indeed, the system is able to create any new network with any kind of resource (e.g., virtual switch, virtual routers, virtual LSRs, virtual optical path, virtual firewall, virtual SIP-based servers, virtual devices, virtual servers, virtual access points, and so on). We will show how this architecture is compatible with new advances in SDN (Software Defined Networking), new high-speed transport protocol like TRILL (Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links) and LISP (Locator/Identifier Separation Protocol), NGN, IMS, Wi-Fi new generation, and 4G/5G networks. Finally, we introduce the Cloud of security and the virtualisation of secure elements (smartcard) that should definitely transform how to secure the Internet.

Annotation OpenFlow is an open interface for remotely controlling tables in network switches, routers, and access points. It is considered a turning point in Software Defined Networking (SDN), data center networking and virtualization as, more secure and efficient data centers are being built using OpenFlow. It defines a protocol that lets a controller use a common set of instructions to add, modify, or delete entries in a switch's forwarding table.Starting with an introduction to SDN and OpenFlow, you will learn about the role of each building block, moving onto demonstrations of how SDN/OpenFlow can be used to provide new services and features, which will change the way that networking works and the innovative business impacts. By the end of this practical guide, you will have an insight into the Software Defined Networking and OpenFlow fundamentals.Packed with detail, this book will walk you through the essentials; you will learn about the OpenFlow protocol, switches, and controllers. Following on from this, you will be taken through a number of practical, hands-on examples on how to use a network emulation platform called OpenFlow laboratory. You will learn how to develop your innovative network application using the OpenFlow controllers API quickly, and test your network application without commissioning any OpenFlow hardware equipment. You will also be introduced to the concept of Software Defined Networking and the details of OpenFlows protocol, along with the building blocks of an OpenFlow networking deployment. This book will teach you how to setup your OpenFlow/SDN laboratory using state-of-the-art technology and open source offerings.

Next Generation Ftth Passive Optical Networks written by Josep Prat and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-07-16 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Fibre-to-the-Home networks constitute a fundamental telecom segment with the required potential to match the huge capacity of transport networks with the new user communication demands. Huge investments in access network infrastructure are expected for the next decade, with many initiatives already launched around the globe recently, driven by the new broadband service demands and the necessity by operators to deploy a future-proof infrastructure in the field. Dense FTTH Passive Optical Networks (PONs) is a cost-efficient way to build fibre access, and international standards (G/E-PON) have been already launched, leading to new set of telecom products for mass deployment. However, these systems only make use of less than 1% of the optical bandwidth; thus, relevant research is taking place to maximize the capacity of these systems, with the latest opto-electronic technologies, demonstrating that the huge bandwidth available through the fibre access can be exploited in a cost-efficient and reliable manner. Next-Generation FTTH Passive Optical Networks gathers and analyzes the most relevant techniques developed recently on technologies for the next generation FTTH networks, trying to answer the question: what’s after G/E-PONs?
