The cantiga de amigo is a folk poem whose speaker is an adolescent girl, quite often in the midst of discovering love for the first time, and often confiding her innermost thoughts to her madre. Movement 1: after an introduction imitating the sound of guitars, a young girl realizes the power of love. Movement 2: as the accompaniment suggests gentle waves, a rather suggestive and delightfully imaginative invitation is offered. Movement 3: passion gives way to resignation. Movement 4: as the convent beckons, and amid strains of her own Dies Irae, a young girl bemoans her fate. Movement 5: a wish for the heart to soar as high as the birds.

A cantiga de amor representa un esforzo por anovar totalmente os estudios sobre este xénero literario que, logo de ter ocupado o lugar central da estética trobadoresca, foi incomprendido e menosprezado por filólogos, críticos e lectores. Revisa o estado das cuestións nos problemas habituais destes estudios (o amor cortés, os problemas de construcción estrófica, a retórica da expresión) pero faino desde unha perspectiva totalmente nova: o intento de construir unha poética cortés que non parta dos presupostos neorrománticos aplicados polo xeral á poesía medieval, senón da experiencia formal, esteticista e experimentalista das vangardas estéticas deste sécúlo e da experiencia do formalismo e mailo estructuralismo na moderna teoría literaria. De aí a aparición de aspectos marcadamente innovadores, moi en particular a articulación do poema como un todo artístico a partir dos recursos retóricos, o paralelismo e o conceptismo. A cantiga de amor deixa de ser un apéndice da poesía provenzal para adquirir personalidade propia e orixinal no seo da lírica medieval europea.

A visión do amor no cancioneiro de Don Denis Estudo e edición de 33 cantigas de amor Este libro parte dun corpus textual constituído por trinta e tres cantigas de amor do rei e trobador portugués Don Denis (1261-1325), nas cales aparece recollido de modo explícito o motivo da visión da dama, tópico xa presente na literatura desde a Antigüidade Clásica. A través dos textos trázase unha análise desde a perspectiva da visión e do amor trobadoresco, unha panorámica do sentimento amoroso experimentado pola voz poética masculina, cuxa xénese vén dada precisamente pola contemplación da senhor. Este estudo vai acompañado do comentario retórico e literario de cada unha das trinta e tres composicións, así como da súa fi xación textual, realizada seguindo as tendencias ‘neo-lachmanianas’ e outras achegas actuais e signifi cativas da crítica textual. O cancioneiro de Don Denis, composto por cento trinta e sete cantigas, fai del o trobador máis prolífi co da nosa poesía medieval, mais este destaca tamén cualitativamente, debido á unión nas súas composicións da tradición poética previa con elementos innovadores, así como polo diálogo que estabelece con outras escolas, nomeadamente a provenzal. O presente estudo pretende pór de relevo a singularidade da produción lírica de Don Denis dentro da homoxeneidade formal que caracteriza a nosa poesía medieval, ponderando, de por parte, o seu papel como o último grande monarca da escola trobadoresca galego-portuguesa, feito que redundará no (re)coñecemento, recuperación e valoración do noso glorioso patrimonio cultural e literario
