Furthermore they should learn about sciences like physics, biology, chemistry and also about creative subjects such as music and arts. Every country has its own way to achieve this goal. This essay describes the way of the English and the German education system to reach this goal and focuses on the differences between the primary and secondary stages. The first part will analyze the structure of the German system followed by an explanation of the English system. Afterwards a comparison between the academic year, the organization of the schools by the government and how schools adopt the national curriculum standards will be taken, as well as how a normal day at school differs in the two systems. At the end a personal conclusion about the topic will be drawn.

To demarcate multitude of influences, the focus will be on the willingness of students to study abroad. One man has taken up the lecture-system, another the dueling, a third the manners and customs of the instructors or of the students. But no one, I believe, has told, in a plain, straightforward narrative, how he himself passed his time at the university, what he studied, and what he accomplished. It seemed to me, therefore, that I might do the cause of education in America some service, by offering my own experience as a sample of German student life in the average. Had my career in Gottingen been an extraordinary one, full of exciting episodes, I should have hesitated to make it public. But precisely because it was so uneventful, so like the lives of my associates, I have deemed it fit to serve as a model for illustration, not imitation, and as a basis for digression. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the differences among both countries, regarding their inclusion-policies, and to derive conclusions about what can be improved in either one. As a side effect of globalization, comparative education gains importance in the countries ́ achievement to compete with one another on a global scale. It promotes the critical engagement with education systems without judgement or prejudice, while fostering an awareness of economic and political circumstances. Not being just an academic practice, it can be of use to improve education around the globe. One of the biggest uncertainties in the field of comparative education, are the different ways in which inclusion is defined and understood by different countries. Since the creation of the Salamanca Statement in 1994, 92 governments and 25 international organizations made a commitment to abolish segregated education and to enable children with disabilities to be part of the mainstream school-system. It is one of the most significant documents in that domain and provides the framework about how to realize the settled arrangements for all governments.
