Este estudo tem como tema a cultura trentina/tirolesa no Rio Grande do Sul. O objetivo geral é analisar se, de fato, os Circolos Trentinos do RS estão preservando, difundindo, incentivando, apoiando e divulgando a história e as origens de seus antepassados e descendentes trentinos/tiroleses, conforme estão descritos em atas e registros. Os objetivos específicos são analisar qual o grau de conhecimento que esses associados possuem sobre sua história, cultura e identidade trentina/tirolesa; examinar se os associados se identificam e estão satisfeitos com as ações e atividades realizadas pelos Circolos Trentinos; identificar as atividades propostas pelos Circolos e analisar se elas são potenciais construtoras de identidade. A pesquisa foi realizada com as diretorias e os associados de cinco Circolos Trentinos do Rio Grande do Sul, quais sejam: Circolo Trentino di São Sepé, Sananduva, Garibaldi, Caxias do Sul e Bento Gonçalves.

A presente obra é uma análise do Multiculturalismo e do Multilinguismo e um esforço reflexivo à temática da educação intercultural e bilíngue em Moçambique, isto é, as práticas educativas na perspectiva intercultural e bilíngue, com o fim de fomentar e construir no cotidiano escolar relações e interações que reconheçam a diversidade sócio-cultural-linguística dos alunos. Pretende-se, ademais, dar voz e vez a saberes e conhecimentos presentes nas culturas tradicionais moçambicanas, historicamente menosprezados e sistematicamente inferiorizados pelo sistema educacional oficial. De fato, Moçambique é multicultural e multilíngue. O país é um mosaico de povos, culturas, religiões, etnias e línguas, resultado da convivência de vários povos autóctones e da migração dos persas, dos árabes, indianos, chineses, portugueses, ingleses, franceses, belgas, brasileiros, dentre outros. Portanto, a situação de multiculturalismo e multilinguismo em Moçambique remete para a Educação Intercultural e Bilíngue, questão do objeto de estudo desta obra.
