Based on 10 years of dedicated research, Dangerous Illusions is a battle cry for the human race to throw off religion in favour of logic and reason. In this committed and passionate book, author Vitaly Malkin - a philanthropist, business man and investor - argues for a radical shift in humanity's thinking about religion; that reason and religion cannot co-exist, and that mankind will only be truly happy if we are able to shake off the illusions of religion in order to live a life more rooted in the present. Dangerous Illusions sets out to explore the irrational demands that religion makes of man and asks the reader to question what benefit these acts offer human beings in this life. Malkin scrutinises topics such as suffering and evil, pleasure and asceticism, sex and celibacy, and circumcision and excision, through the lens of the three major world monotheistic religions - Christianity, Islam and Judaism. In doing so, the book fearlessly refutes our most careless beliefs, encouraging us to be more aware of the dangers religions pose to our society and, even to change our intellectual practices altogether.

Radical Religious And Violent written by Eli Berman and has been published by MIT Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-09-30 with Political Science categories.

Applying fresh tools from economics to explain puzzling behaviors of religious radicals: Muslim, Christian, and Jewish; violent and benign. How do radical religious sects run such deadly terrorist organizations? Hezbollah, Hamas, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and the Taliban all began as religious groups dedicated to piety and charity. Yet once they turned to violence, they became horribly potent, executing campaigns of terrorism deadlier than those of their secular rivals. In Radical, Religious, and Violent, Eli Berman approaches the question using the economics of organizations. He first dispels some myths: radical religious terrorists are not generally motivated by the promise of rewards in the afterlife (including the infamous seventy-two virgins) or even by religious ideas in general. He argues that these terrorists (even suicide terrorists) are best understood as rational altruists seeking to help their own communities. Yet despite the vast pool of potential recruits—young altruists who feel their communities are repressed or endangered—there are less than a dozen highly lethal terrorist organizations in the world capable of sustained and coordinated violence that threatens governments and makes hundreds of millions of civilians hesitate before boarding an airplane. What's special about these organizations, and why are most of their followers religious radicals? Drawing on parallel research on radical religious Jews, Christians, and Muslims, Berman shows that the most lethal terrorist groups have a common characteristic: their leaders have found a way to control defection. Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Taliban, for example, built loyalty and cohesion by means of mutual aid, weeding out “free riders” and producing a cadre of members they could rely on. The secret of their deadly effectiveness lies in their resilience and cohesion when incentives to defect are strong. These insights suggest that provision of basic social services by competent governments adds a critical, nonviolent component to counterterrorism strategies. It undermines the violent potential of radical religious organizations without disturbing free religious practice, being drawn into theological debates with Jihadists, or endangering civilians.

What you don't know about Islam can kill you. What you will read in this book can save you. This concise, gripping account gives the reader everything he needs to know in order to make informed and intelligent decisions about Islam and how to respond to it.Islam Exposed provides irrefutable proof about the true nature of Islam and what it has planned for you. Why irrefutable? Because it draws on the Muslims' own writings: the Koran, Sirat Rasul Allah, and the Hadith. Richly documented, you will learn the truth about Muhammad and the religion he created. Islam has waged a relentless war of aggression against the "Kafirs" (non-believers) for fourteen centuries. It is a religion that offers the world only three alternatives: convert, be enslaved, or die. "Coexist" is not an option.Part 1 begins with a justification for knowing more about Islam. Then, contrary to tradition, the author provides a glossary of key terms at the beginning of the book instead of hiding it at the end where the reader usually discovers it after he already has been bewildered by the meaning of unfamiliar words. The glossary, alone, provides an excellent primer on Islam.Part 2 covers the key elements in the life of Muhammad. We can neither understand Islam nor predict what it will do without an understanding of the man. Islam really isn't about Allah. It is about Muhammad, and this concise biography gives the reader everything he needs to know to understand and judge Islam and to predict what it will do next.Part 3 details the essential elements of the religion and political system that Muhammad created. You will learn about its basic theological tenets, the Five Pillars, Jihad, Islamic Dualism, Muslims' relationships with women and non-believers -- Jews and Christians in particular -- its role in perpetuating slavery, and a comparison between Allah and Abba as well as between Muhammad and Jesus. Part 3 concludes with a short course on the history of Islam and the war of aggression that it has waged for fourteen centuries.Part 4 unveils an aggressive plan of action to save non-believers from the global threat of Islam. Chapter Fifteen discusses the "Myth of the Moderate Muslim" and reveals what Muslims mean when they describe Islam as a "religion of peace." Then comes the "Battle Plan", describing both domestic and international courses of action that will save the non-Islamic world from the terror the Muslims have planned for it. This strategy will end the threat of Islam for good. Included in this is a humanitarian way to liberate the Muslims, themselves, from the chains of their own oppressive religion.Concise, gripping, informative, accurate, and bold -- this book gives the reader everything he needs to know about Islam and how to respond to it. "Coexist" is not an option. So, infidel, unless you plan to convert, be enslaved, or die, your only alternative is to fight. This book tells you how.

One of the most depressing realities of modern life is the regularity with which deadly attacks are carried out in the name of Islam. Almost as depressing are the invariable reassurances by Western political leaders and media elites that these acts of violence had "nothing to do with Islam". As part of these reassurances we will also regularly hear the terms Radical Islam, Islamism, Militant Islam, 'so-called' Islamic State (ISIS) and Jihadist bandied about as if people who act violently on behalf of Islam are somehow perverting the pristine teachings of the Muslim religion. Yet, niggling doubts remain. Why, if Islam is indeed a "religion of peace", do these attacks keep coming? Why are the vast majority of acts of terror in our world today carried out by people steeped in the teachings of the Qur'an? With his new book, "Nothing to do with Islam"? - Investigating the West's Most Dangerous Blind Spot, Peter Townsend (author of the highly acclaimed Questioning Islam - Tough Questions and Honest Answers about the Muslim Religion) examines the evidence as far as the possible link between Islam and violence is concerned. He does this by carefully analyzing the foundational texts of Islam (most notably the Qur'an and traditions), as well as the canonical set of stock responses whenever such a link is asserted. The question whether Islam promotes violence could very well be one of the most important questions ever faced by Western civilization. It deserves more attention and analysis than a few glib sound bites. Nothing to do with Islam? provides you with the opportunity to examine this question from all angles and come to your own conclusions.

Many commentators claim that religion is dangerous and harmful. In addressing this question, this book begins by defining what religion actually is and how most human harm has been caused. It then looks at why people say that religion is dangerous, focusing particularly on religious wars and conflicts and on specific attacks on religion.
