In this quest for Truth, spanning many centuries and diverse civilizations, organized religion has shaped human life and determined to a large extent, the course of history. While some religions have been based on books, claimed by their adherents to be divinely inspired, others have relied solely on human experience. Al-Qur''an, the main source of the Islamic faith, is a book believed by Muslims, to be of completely Divine origin. Muslims also believe that it contains Divine guidance for all humankind. Since the message of the Qur''an is believed to be for all times, it should be relevant to every age. Does the Qur''an pass this test? In this booklet, I intend to give an objective analysis of the Muslim belief regarding the Divine origin of the Qur''an, in the light of established scientific discoveries. There was a time, in the history of world civilization, when ''miracles'', or what was perceived to be a miracle, took precedence over human reason and logic. But how do we define the term ''miracle''? A miracle is anything that takes place out of the normal course of life and for which humankind has no explanation. However, we must be careful before we accept something as a miracle. An article in `The Times of India'', Mumbai, in 1993 reported that ''a saint'' by the name ''Baba Pilot'' claimed to have stayed continuously submerged under water in a tank for three consecutive days and nights. However, when reporters wanted to examine the base of the tank of water where he claimed to have performed this ''miraculous'' feat, he refused to let them do so. He argued by asking as to how one could examine the womb of a mother that gives birth to a child. The `Baba'' was hiding something. "Biblical Geography and History" is a comprehensive exploration of the geographical and historical aspects of the Bible. Charles Foster Kent, a respected biblical scholar of his time, delves into the lands, people, and events that are central to the narratives found in the Old and New Testaments. The book is divided into several sections, each focusing on different regions and historical periods. Kent provides detailed descriptions and analyses of the geographic locations mentioned in the Bible, helping readers to better understand the settings in which biblical events took place. In addition to discussing the physical geography, Kent delves into the historical context of the biblical narratives. He provides insights into the customs, cultures, and historical events that shaped the biblical world. This includes the ancient civilizations, such as Egypt, Babylon, and Assyria, which interacted with the Israelites and are crucial to understanding the broader historical context of the Bible. Kent's work also examines the cultural and religious aspects of biblical history, shedding light on the religious practices, traditions, and beliefs of the people mentioned in the Bible. "Biblical Geography and History" serves as an essential resource for students of biblical studies, archaeology, and history, as it provides a comprehensive overview of the geographic and historical background of the Bible. It aids in bridging the gap between the ancient world and the biblical texts, offering valuable insights into the settings and events described in the Old and New Testaments. Charles Foster Kent's book has been a valuable reference for scholars and readers interested in biblical history and its cultural and geographic context.

The Bible Baconianism And Mastery Over Nature written by Cameron Wybrow and has been published by New York : P. Lang this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1991 with Bibles categories.

Modern scholars have frequently asserted that Western technological mastery over nature sprang from the triumph of 'Biblical' over 'pagan' modes of thought. In a spirited response to the views of Berger, Collingwood, Cox, Foster, Jaki, Roszak, Toynbee, White and others, the author disproves this hypothesis. By a careful exposition of pagan, Biblical, and early modern texts, he shows that the theme of mastery is no more pronounced in Biblical than in pagan thought, and that Bacon's science entailed a rejection of both. Further, he shows that the radical character of modern mastery was effectively concealed by the Baconians, whose slipshod but rhetorically successful interpretation of Biblical 'dominion' supplied the spiritual justification for the modern conquest of nature.
