If a hidden portal existed through which you could gain access to another dimension, would you seek to learn about it? Is there an unseen ability within you which you have never activated? Is there an unknown key to addressing the negative issues in your life?A hidden mystery has been preserved in ancient manuscripts. Although many people have read these documents, they apparently never discovered the key component that reveals the hidden message. A revelation that will elevate your consciousness into the realm of the supernatural is about to unfold to you through this book. You are on the verge of discovering something about yourself that will take you beyond your human personality and the thinking process that controls it. The understanding that will illuminate you will not be the result of logical or analytical processes of your finite mind. If logic could have revealed the truths in ancient manuscripts, we would be living in a very different world today.

Covenant written by Chris Woodall and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-09-14 with Religion categories.

The premise of this book lies in its title. God makes himself known to us in a number of ways: through the created order, by way of human conscience, the unfolding of world events, the inherent religious need in man, through his written Word, and ultimately, of course, in the Person of Jesus Christ. Why he does so is a mystery, which we can only assign to sovereign choice. The basis upon which he does so, however, is covenant. This being the case, not only is the idea of covenant a valid hermeneutic by which to understand Scripture, but a vital one without which it would be impossible for us to fully appreciate the divine revelation that is available to us in and attainable to us by the Bible. Many Christians will be familiar with the idea that Christ fulfills the Old Testament prophecies and promises concerning God's people in the Old Testament. But when we begin to see this, too, in terms of covenant, then we begin to more fully understand precisely what it was that Christ fulfilled and what the implications of this are for those of us who are what the Bible calls "in Christ." Not only did Jesus meet all the requirements of the overarching theme of the Old Testament in general terms, but he filled out to their fullest potential all the intricacies of detail of each of the separate divine covenants that we find there. The benefits of this for us are beyond measure, the comprehension of them is mind-blowing, and the treasures they hold simply await our unlocking of them. Take the key and peer inside. You will not be disappointed.

This concise book introduces the reader to the current debate about the issue of divine hiddenness. The author critically assesses the views of many leading philosophers, and proceeds to offer his own solutions and insights. This is a book that will be of interest not only to the academic, but also to anyone who has ever wondered why God does not simply make his existence known to everyone.

Divine Disclosure written by David Syme Russell and has been published by Augsburg Fortress Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992 with Religion categories.

The study of apocalyptic has been David Russell's life-work, and over the years, with the discovery of new material and ongoing study, he has reassessed his earlier interpretation in a number of respects. This new book, written with all the freshness that made his Between the Testaments a classic which is still widely read today, provides a short but comprehensive guide to the latest state of research into apocalyptic. After identifying and redefining the literature, Dr. Russell examines the birth and growth of apocalyptic and investigates the reasons for its popularity. He then goes on to consider particular apocalyptic groups and apocalyptic books, the idea of revelation, and the main ideas of apocalyptic. The book ends with a Christian perspective and a discussion of the significance of apocalyptic for today.

Eucharistic Presence written by Robert Sokolowski and has been published by CUA Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994 with Religion categories.

In this insightful, interdisciplinary study, Robert Sokolowski uses the methods of phenomenology to examine Christian religious beliefs, particularly the sacrament of the Eucharist. In so doing, he comes to terms with many theological and cultural issues raised by modernity. Although the Eucharist is the center of focus, other issues in Christian faith are also examined, such as the Christian understanding of God, Creation, the Incarnation, Redemption, and biblical Revelation. Sokolowski employs a method that he calls "the theology of disclosure," which studies the structures of appearance and should be distinguished from both positive and scholastic theology. He takes appearances as objective disclosures, not as mere psychological events. When discussing the Eucharist, he shows how it uses the form of quotation and how it draws on various temporal dimensions of human existence as it reenacts the sacrifice of Christ before the eternal Father. The author also considers how Christian belief differs from other forms of religion and from modern atheism. By demonstrating how the Christian understanding of God differs from other ways of understanding the divine, he attempts to show that Christianity is not simply one religion among many but the truth of religion. These deeper themes are explored as necessary contexts for the Eucharist, which could not be properly understood except against the background of the Christian understanding of God as eternal and as Creator and Redeemer. The author provides a comprehensive theological treatment of major issues in Christian faith and does so with categories that are appropriate to our present intellectual and cultural world. This study, which draws upon the work of many classical and contemporary theologians, especially Hans Urs von Balthasar, contributes significantly to speculative theology and to Eucharistic studies. It will be of great use to theologians and philosophers, as well as to students of Christian philosophy and sacramental theology. Robert Sokolowski, a priest of the Archdiocese of Hartford, has taught philosophy at The Catholic University of America since 1963. He has written six books and numerous articles dealing with phenomenology, philosophy and Christian faith, moral philosophy, and issues in contemporary science. He has been an auxiliary chaplain at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., since 1976 and was named monsignor in 1993. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Indispensable for graduate and divinity programs with interests in Catholic theology and phenomenology of religions.--Religious Studies Review "Intellectually stimulating. . . . The author contributes many insights to the theology of the Eucharist, some of which I had never seen before and found enlightening and moving. The depth of his scholarship is obvious."--Rev. James T. O'Connor, St. Joseph's Seminary, New York "A careful reading of this profound analysis of the Holy Eucharist will be rewarded with a more fruitful participation at Mass. Here we find a modern model of the Catholic theologian who shows us in the concrete how to practice 'faith seeking understanding.'"--Kenneth Baker, S.J., Editor, Homiletic and Pastoral Review

Revelation written by Gerald O'Collins and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016 with Religion categories.

Since the late 1980s the theme of God's self-revelation has been treated only briefly in Christian theology, at times simply ignored, and often confused with biblical inspiration. Revelation: Towards a Christian Theology of God's Self-Revelation lays out its basic characteristics, and beginsby distinguishing between revelation in the primary sense (a living encounter with God's self-disclosure) and in the secondary sense (statements of faith derived from that encounter, or "propositional" revelation). It considers revelation as transforming and informing, as being "sacramental" ormediated through words and deeds, as communicated through an endless variety of means and mediators, as related to but distinct from biblical inspiration and truth, and as reaching those of "other" faiths or of no faith at all.Gerald O'Collins skilfully distinguishes between past (or "foundational") revelation, present (or "dependent") revelation, and future (or "eschatological") revelation. He expounds with ecumenical sensitivity the complex relationship between tradition and scripture. O'Collins moves into controversialareas by insisting that the divine self- revelation takes place only when received by human faith and that "outside revelation there is no salvation (extra revelationem nulla salus)". This volume offers a coherent account of God's self-revelation, which can serve as a basis for all that follows intheology and for dialogue with those who follow "other" living faiths or none at all. O'Collins extends and enriches what he has proposed in earlier books and articles about the characteristics of God's self-revelation.

Divine Revelation written by Kern Robert Trembath and has been published by Oxford University Press, USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1991 with Performing Arts categories.

In this book, Trembath attempts to address the question of the self-revealing God from the perspective of the grounding of human nature itself in God. This grounding is the moral nature of human beings, and constitutes the fundamental revelation of the self-transcending God which accounts both for how we can hear God's word on the one hand, and how we are constituted as self-transcending beings on the other. Until this grounding is accounted for, all speculations about real or alleged divine revelations are critically presumptuous. Trembath finds the moralness of human beings particularly in the capacities for knowing, loving, and hoping (which he sees as the historical expression of the Triune God) and thus in the fundamental communitarianness of human beings (which he sees as the expression of the One God.)
