A importância de se apresentar uma análise comparativa entre o sistema de compras centralizadas com o de descentralizadas dentro do Exército Brasileiro se torna fundamental, principalmente para verificar se o modelo de centralização empregado pelo Exército Brasileiro tem gerado a Economicidade esperada nas compras do Exército Brasileiro, com redução de custos dos processos licitatórios e dos produtos e serviços adquiridos. Optou-se por usar os processos realizados na cidade de Brasília para a referida análise, utilizando uma metodologia explicativa e aplicada, numa pesquisa quantitativa, apresentando um modelo estatístico que comprovou a existência de indícios que geraram Economicidade no Sistema de compras centralizadas do Exército Brasileiro para a aquisição de material tipificado como comum, sendo este modelo passível de ser aplicado nas demais cidades do território brasileiro com concentração de unidades militares.
