Atualmente é crescente o número de alunos do público alvo da educação especial nas escolas públicas brasileiras. Dentro desse grupo encontram-se os autistas que tem alcançado cada vez maior representatividade e buscado lutar pela eliminação de uma visão capacitista de suas habilidades. Apesar de toda a mobilização atual de pais, associações e poderes públicos em torno da causa autista, infelizmente, ainda não conseguimos garantir, por exemplo, a garantia constitucional de permanência na escola durante todo o ensino básico a esse público. Autistas ainda sentem a dificuldade em acompanhar os conteúdos escolares em nossas escolas e o que as pesquisas indicam é que esse fenômeno deve-se em maior parte a falta de metodologias adequadas do que ao grau de necessidade de apoio do indivíduo. O momento requer inovação em nossas práticas pedagógicas, buscando novas alternativas metodológicas e tecnologias educacionais embasadas nos preceitos da acessibilidade e da alteridade. O presente livro pretende servir como um guia para pais e profissionais: do diagnóstico ao atendimento educacional especializado do autismo. A narrativa segue um estudo de caso da aprendizagem de física por um aluno com autismo. Embora não muito usual, mas a nossa proposta foi realmente inovar buscamos utilizar durante a sua aprendizagem tecnologias educacionais como, por exemplo, a robótica educacional e experimentos em laboratório de ciências. As práticas pedagógicas com estes recursos mostraram-se promissoras e permitiram a identificação de uma variado repertório de características que podem auxiliar pais e profissionais no desenvolvimento de autistas. A robótica educacional permitiu por meio da representação visual uma maior facilidade de raciocínio dos fenômenos científicos apresentados por meio da montagem de circuitos. A experimentação em laboratório de ciências contribuiu através da método científico para o estabelecimento de uma rotina de aprendizagem baseada na evolução gradual do nível de complexidade das atividades. Dentre estas e outras vantagens em utilizar estas tecnologias educacionais no desenvolvimento de habilidades acadêmicas em autistas você vai encontrar nesse livro. Espero que esse livro sirva a você tanto quanto foi para mim como projeto de pesquisa. Desejo que ele seja uma agradável viagem pelo universo do autismo e uma fonte de inspiração para que nós possamos sempre enxergar nesse público as suas grandes potencialidades e ilimitáveis possibilidades de desenvolvimento.

The experimental composer John Cage (1912-1992) is best known for his works in percussion, prepared piano, and electronic music, but he is also acknowledged to be one of the most significant figures in 20th century theatre. In Cage's work in theatre composition there is a blurring of the distinctions between music, dance, literature, art and everyday life. Here, William Fetterman examines the majority of those compositions by Cage which are audial as well as visual in content, beginning with his first work in this genre in 1952, and continuing through 1992. Much of the information in this study comes from previously undocumented material discovered among the unpublished scores and notes of Cage and his frequent collaborator David Tudor, as well as author's interviews with Cage and with individuals closely associated with his work, including David Tudor, Merce Cunningham, Bonnie Bird, Mary Caroline Richards, and Ellsworth Snyder.
