Neste sentido, o livro apresenta a importância das abelhas nativas sem ferrão na natureza e as vantagens da Meliponicultura. Apresenta a anatomia das abelhas, sua divisão em castas, ciclo de vida e nidificação. Cita a legislação referente à Meliponicultura e indica as maneiras ecologicamente corretas de obtenção de colônias para iniciar a criação das abelhas em caixas racionais. A obra também mostra a produção das incansáveis abelhas e evidencia as propriedades nutricionais e terapêuticas do mel nativo. Aprendi como obter mais colmeias e acompanhei de perto o desenvolvimento de cada uma das colônias. Fiz centenas de fotos, acertei, errei, perdi algumas colmeias pelos invasores naturais, mas também pude saborear seu delicioso mel. Humildemente, compartilho com você meus estudos, acertos e erros, fotos, considerações e a certeza de estar fazendo minha parte para a preservação de algumas espécies de abelhas nativas sem ferrão.
