A Contemporary Romance from New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, Cali MacKay... All her life, Rowan Campbell has been desperate for answers about her father—yet her mother refused to speak of him, even on her deathbed. Desperate to find the father she’s never known, Rowan moves from the States to her mother’s hometown in Scotland, determined to uncover her mother’s secrets. When Angus Macleod agrees to help Rowan, a family friend, the last thing he expects is to fall hard for the fiery redhead, who makes him rethink his bachelor ways. Unable to shake her from his thoughts, he’s happy to help her find her father. But when Angus discovers Rowan’s mother left Scotland pregnant and terrified, he wonders if Rowan’s quest for answers is putting in her danger. Before long, Angus finds himself hindering Rowan’s search, despite knowing his actions could ruin any chance he has for happiness. But with Rowan closing in on her father’s identity, will Angus be able to keep her from harm—and will she ever forgive him for standing in her way? *** This book is a complete novel that can stand alone and does not end with any cliffhangers. ***

For The Love Of A Highland Home written by Kathy Fraser and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-02-01 with India categories.

This book traces the early 19th century struggle of five Fraser brothers to save their father's impoverished estate in the Scottish Highlands. James and Edward go to work on a slave plantation in Guyana, but when this fails they sail to India to join William and Aleck. The younger George sets out later on a military posting to India. Their story takes place during turbulent times: the Napoleonic wars, the anti-slavery movement, the demise of the Mughal Empire, the Anglo-Nepal War, the rise of Gurkha regiments, the first Afghan War and the changing life in the post-Culloden Highlands. Against this extraordinary background, For the Love of a Highland Home meticulously documents the lives and dramatic exploits of the five brothers, drawing extensively on their copious letters and diaries. Only one of the five survives to return home to his ageing and impecunious parents.

Excerpt from Glencreggan, Vol. 1 of 2: Or, a Highland Home in Cantire IN the following pages I essay to guide my readers to new ground, even to the Land's End of Scotland, for such is the English meaning of the Gaelic word Cantire, Ceantire, the Land's End, which is the southern part of the county of Argyle, and is a peninsula only twelve miles removed from Ireland, washed by the Atlantic, and flanked by the Isles of Arran and the southern Hebrides. I venture to call Cantire new ground, for in truth it is somewhat of a tewa incognita, and is but rarely Visited, and has been but barely mentioned by the guide-books, some of which indeed do not bestow any description upon Cantire, evidently regarding it as a Western Highland district which no tourist would desire to explore.
