It was actually women who began the French Revolution although no one owns up to that fact. And instead of a place of power it began in the unlikely location of the market place. On October 5, 1789 the women of Paris became enraged over the high cost of bread and the scarcity of wheat. Their cry for justice carried them twelve miles outside of Paris to the royal court of Versailles where they captured their monarch, Louis XVI along with his wife, Marie Antoinette and his son, the Dauphin and his daughter Madam Royal. They returned them to the Tuileries Palace in Paris where they remained under guard. In 1792 the royal family made a mad dash escape but were betrayed leading to their recapture and return to the Tuileries. This attempt was seen as a betrayal and began the turn in affection of the French people for their monarchy. More importantly it allowed Maximillian Robespierre and his party of antiroyalists to slip into power, producing murder and mayhem. It was a turning point in the history of France and also royalist Europe.Into this whirlwind of chaos, mystery and intrigue five ancient souls are reunited to repair sins of their past and aid many of the innocent victims of the revolution, including wrongfully accused aristocrats, falsely imprisoned women and the orphans of Paris and Bordeaux. As they had aided the innocent victims of the Knights Templar's fabricated disgrace in the past, they would now repeat their feats again with the monies from a portion of the fabled treasure of the Templars, left in their care four hundred years ago.
