Existiu um tempo em que a inocência do André o fazia acreditar que todos os sonhos seriam possíveis de realizar; e que, apesar dos altos e baixos que caracterizaram a sua relação com a Susana, o laço que os envolvia seria suficientemente forte para os manter unidos. O André acreditava que aquela era a mulher que lhe fora destinada, e que, o “para sempre,” que tantas vezes verbalizaram, era uma realidade indestrutível: aquela crença das almas gémeas, se assim se pode dizer. Mas o destino trocou-lhe as voltas, provocando uma separação que o manteve afastado da Susana durante uma eternidade. Sem saberem um do outro, os anos foram passando, de uma forma lenta e terrivelmente penosa. Corroído pelo desgaste que lhe causou aquela separação, o André decidiu regressar às suas origens, julgando ainda ser possível encontrar ali a atmosfera que rodeou a sua infância, e acalmar a agitação que caracterizou a sua vida durante aquele afastamento, a cada dia mais penoso. E, para sua surpresa, pareceu-lhe que este seu desejo se tornaria realidade, quando, chegado ali, pôde confirmar que as suas raízes estavam tão sólidas como outrora, recusando-se, tenazmente, separar-se dele, facto que o tranquilizou em absoluto, visto que sempre admitira que aquela viagem encetada lhe poderia aliviar o sofrimento que o triste passado lhe causara, e que insistentemente procurava esquecer. Mais ainda porque, a Susana, uma vez conhecedora da sua chegada, como que por acinte, instalara-se nos seus fantasiosos sonhos, decidindo não lhe dar um momento de sossego. Contudo, sem que nada o fizesse prever, o inesperado aconteceu: a Susana reapareceu, vinda do desconhecido, disposta a reparar o mal que fizera e sarar as chagas que o seu inesperado afastamento infligiu no coração do André. Agora, confrontados, ambos, com as dolorosas recordações desse passado, provocadas pelas escolhas que o juvenil amor da Susana não fora capaz de alterar, os dois irão tentar decifrar a razão por que o amor e o perdão andam sempre de mãos dadas, e perceber que, na vida, se quisermos seguir em frente, teremos que retroceder a marcha e analisar o passado. Será que a Susana e o André serão capazes de descobrir o rumo a dar a um amor que, apesar da distância, não definhara? Será que a reconciliação ainda é possível? Talvez a presente história nos forneça pistas para encontrarmos as respostas para estas interrogações, para depois construir solidamente um novo futuro.
