Community based conservation has been growing in popularity in recent years. Community-based conservation has the survival of animal species and the involvement and growth of the local human communities as the central goal. Various methods have been used to involve the communities nearby such as Employment, Financial Support, Employment and Financial Support, Education, and Education and Employment. Of these types, financial support had the greatest popularity in programs, followed by employment. There are three management types utilized: government (GOV), non-government organizations (NGOs) and non-government and government (GOV &NGOs). Government and non-government had similar popularities in programs. There is an association between which community involvement method is used and its success as well as an association between management type and the success of the program. Employment was the community involvement type most likely to succeed and NGO was the management type most likely to succeed. Community involvement and management type both influenced the success of conservation programs.
