"Written to commemorate the University of New England's fiftieth year as an independent institution, A Spirit of True Learning tells the story of the University's early struggles, its commitment to country students and the surrounding community, its rapid growth after autonomy, its development of a strong tradition of teaching and research, and its experiences over the last decade within the context of government reform and rationalisation." "This is also the story of a unique university. Like the Australian National University, UNE was founded during the great age of Australian nation-building and Keynesian optimism. Opened as an affiliate college of the University of Sydney in 1938, New England became autonomous in 1954. Its founders saw it as a deliberate attempt to bring the special advantages and the special problems of rural life in Australia under the spotlight of higher learning."--BOOK JACKET.

Education In Search Of The Spirit written by John Fentress Gardner and has been published by SteinerBooks this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996 with Education categories.

Real education will always seek to strengthen what is best in the human soul: its longing for the experience of spiritual truth that brings into the self an objective appreciation of the noble aspects of its own nature, together with a subjective sense of real affinity with the rest of humanity, the earth planet as a whole, and the great cosmos above and beyond. The premise of this book is that a human being is a being of body, soul, and spirit, whose core is "eternal spirit," from which center one should strive to live. From this perspective, the aim of true education is to help our children activate this deepest center in themselves. For this, living, intuitive thinking must be brought to life in a new way. The organ for such thinking is the heart, where will and feeling join in uniting self and world, morality and truth, love and action. This book is in three parts. The first poses the problem; the second describes the Waldorf approach as a solution; and the third deals with questions of special interest to parents and educators alike, such as authority, discipline, and freedom; the nature of "genius"; and the question of cultural pluralism. The first edition of this book was titled "The Experience of Knowledge" in response to a clear call for experience in education. Certainly, if the sole purpose of education is to acquire information, learning becomes dry, abstract, and deadening. To have meaningful consequence in a person's life, "coming to know" must become an experience. Too often, however, such experience is understood simply as doing -- field trips, class projects, and so on. But "doing," if unconnected to the whole person, is just activity. To become true experience, it must speak out of, and toward, a student's secret center: the spirit. Hence, the author affirms that authentic education is always in search of the spirit.

The goal of the enemy of God is to seek, kill and destroy by deceiving the disciples of Christ to follow a way that seems right but in the end will lead to death. The enemy does this by deceiving us that we have a relationship with God because of our knowledge of Him without actually coming to know Him. It's the goal of the Holy Spirit to turn our knowledge of God into an understanding of Him that will allow us to experience the Father in a real and meaningful way. Using John's account of the gospel we'll dissect the revelations Christ shares through His teachings in order to worship the Father through the Son in a way that brings glory and honor to the Father which will result in bringing us joy and peace. For true peace comes from the contentment we feel being in the presence of God and protected from the enemy who is constantly trying to consume those who walk in their flesh.

How do I write about a word like education when I already know what it means, or do I really know? To date, I have written several books relating to life, and this one discusses the word education and how it relates to creation and all of life. Education starts on the day of physical birth and continues throughout life until that final day of living in this dimension. Education is a complex and interesting word. It comes in many ways and forms and surrounds everything and everyone at all times. Education is very multiplex and has its own direction. It is the choice of each individual whether they wish to follow the path of education or be independent and create their own education, or the lack thereof.

But Jesus is also an incredible example of how to lead a faithful life. Jesus, as a human, walked on earth and confronted the same struggles that we face. Our primary mission as his followers is to learn from him -- to become his apprentices. In this book we seek to further our apprenticeship by studying everything from Jesus's interactions with those around him to the revolutionary wisdom recorded in the Gospels. Learning from Jesus is conveniently organized for individual or group study, and each section of this guide leads you further down the path to true discipleship.
