Employing a mixed-method approach, the book investigates the psychology of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in the online teaching environment in China during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, questionnaires were conducted on Chinese EFL teachers to explore the profiles of EFL teachers’ anxiety, self-efficacy, buoyancy and engagement. Additionally, semi-structured interviews were used to demystify their psychological growth in the dynamic interaction with ecological environments, thus constructing an ecological model of EFL teacher psychology in online teaching. The book provides new insights into EFL teacher psychology and theoretical references for building a functional ecosystem for the professional development of EFL teachers. The book will be of interest to researchers in teacher psychology, language teachers and practitioners, especially those working in the complex technology-based educational environment, and policy makers in foreign language education.

The Bronfenbrenner Primer written by Lawrence Shelton and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-07-17 with Psychology categories.

This is the first ever introduction to Urie Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Framework written specifically for undergraduate students. The author provides a carefully structured, guided introduction to Bronfenbrenner’s concepts, their interpretation, and their potential applications. Bronfenbrenner’s scientific analysis of the role the environment plays in human development earned him a premier place alongside Jean Piaget, Sigmund Freud, and Erik Erikson as a contributor to our understanding of developmental processes. His ideas are essential for analysing how development happens, how it goes astray, how to right it when it does, and how to create environments that will promote healthy development. The Bronfenbrenner Primer walks students through each component of the framework in a logical order, helping students build a solid, systematic understanding. It describes the background and context that led Bronfenbrenner to develop his framework, illustrates a wide array of potential applications, and provides activities students can do to practice applying the framework to their own experience. Honed over 25 years of teaching Bronfenbrenner’s ideas, this text will be essential reading for students across the behavioral and social sciences.

This multi-academic perspective on contemporary environmental issues reminds us of our oneness with the natural world and what that calls us to as moral creatures. Fashioned as a series of stories based on the model of biblical narrative, these seemingly multivalent voices and perspectives are joined together with biblical stories, references, and theological reflection to create in All Creation Is Groaning a seamless story that is both provocative and revelatory. All Creation Is Groaning provides a clear Vision of living life in a sacred universe. This Vision is linked to the biblical Vision of justice and righteousness for all of creation, and humankind's responsibility to hasten the Vision through a call to ethical practice. Critical and hermeneutical, this book reflects an interdisciplinary approach so as to build bridges of understanding between the Bible and contemporary disciplines." Chapters are *Stories from the Heart, - *New Ways of Knowing and Being Known, - *An Islamic Perspective on the Environment, - *Christian Values, Technology, and the Environment Crisis, - *Feeding the Hungry and Protecting the Environment, - *Mental Cartography in a Time of Environmental Crisis, - *Toward an Understanding of International Geopolitics and the Environment, - *Sustainability: An Eco- Theological Analysis, - *The Stewardship of Natural and Human Resources, - *Development of Environmental Responsibility in Children, - *An Ecological View of Elders and Their Families: Needs for the Twenty-First Century, - *Symphonies of Nature: Creation and Re-creation, - *A Sense of Place, - and *Hope Amidst Crisis: A Prophetic Vision of Cosmic Redemption.

Child Day Care written by Bruce Hershfield and has been published by Transaction Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997-01-01 with Social Science categories.

With more parents in the work force today than ever before, child day care has become an essential element of family life. In the mid-1990s, over 60 percent of employed mothers with children under the age of six worked full time; over 20 percent of mothers in the work force were their family's sole wage earner; and over one million single fathers had children under the age of 18. More than half of all children under age six have parents in the work force, and the mothers of 54 percent of these children are working. This vital compendium makes it clear that comprehensive child care services are not only important to economic well being, but are a vital part of the continuum of child welfare as such. The purpose of child day care is to supplement and enhance the care, attention to developmental needs, and the protection that children receive from their parents. Child Day Care is an effort to define a nurturing environment that cultivates the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social potential of the child as it helps all family members pursue their own individual and collective goals. The fifteen essays in Child Day Care encompass these and other vital matters. Chapters linking child day care and child welfare, child poverty, welfare reform and training, are presented because they are timely and critical if child day care is to remain a viable service to support and strengthen families in an era of high participation in the working force. The effectiveness of specifically designed day care programs for specialized populations and purposes is discussed in several chapters. In addition, several others examine current theories and innovations that may change the future of child day care services_not only in the United States, but worldwide. As the editors make clear, all too often the goals of child day care are high, but the quality of the actual services provided are not. This cutting-edge volume seeks to redress this situation. Among the contributors are such well known figures as Sheila Kammerman, Alfred J. Kahn, Martha G. Roditti, Marcia K. Meyers, Barbara Fink, Diane Trister Dodge, and Richard Fiene.
