I was driven to write this book because I saw a tragedy. When you see a tragedy, can you remain silent? I know I can't. I didn't witness an horrific slaughter of many people, a terrorist bomb that exploded in my hometown, or a young mid-pubescent boy walk into a school, open his backpack and proceed to slaughter his classmates and teachers with a gun he found in his parent's closet. But...the tragedy I witness now and for many years is the abandonment of the human spirit. Many teachers and gurus have told me they believe that people are beginning to "wake up" to the fact that material goods are not the answer to finding their bliss. And they are beginning to pay attention to their spiritual lives. I hope that is correct but somehow I have not been witness to a spiritual awakening in this country. I see people going through the spiritual motions using their "training wheels" to prove to themselves and others that they are on the "spiritual path". I have critical news for them: The Path to Enlightenment has nothing to do with smiling and showing you are a kind person. Those behaviors will get you into the doors of heaven if that's where your path takes you but not to full enlightenment. For that goal, there is a much different path. It's simple but it's not easy. When I began to see the absolute purity in Nature and wild animals such as deer, hummingbirds, hawks, wolves, honey bees and wild turkeys, I realized that the animal mind is very simple - less complicated than that of humans. Then I remembered a question a student asked of His Holiness the Dalai Lama: "Honorable one, are you an enlightened being?" The answer His Holiness gave was, "I am only a simple monk." Although His Holiness is a living Buddha, proclaiming his enlightenment would have been arrogant. Instead, he presented a clue when he gave his answer to show us that the more simple the mind, the easier our journey to enlightenment. Using the simple animal mind as a model is the answer. My deep relationships with many wild animals gave me the key I was seeking and it is shared with you in this introductory book. I hope you enjoy it...and stayed tuned for BOOK 2 - FREE the MIND - FOR THOSE WHO ARE TRULY READY.

"Over millennia, many Eastern traditions have developed practices that use the powerful healing energy of breath to treat physical, emotional, and mental problems. In Chinese, this energy is called chi; in Indian Sanskrit it is called prana, and in Tibetan it is called lung. Lung is life-giving energy that moves through our bodies. A lack or imbalance of lung can create illnesses of body and mind or cause emotional struggles such as confusion, anger, and depression. In this book, Geshe YongDong Losar, a scholar and monk in the ancient Bön tradition of Tibet, guides us through powerful practices to help balance our lung. His deep knowledge-garnered through years of study and practice-renders the practices simple and achievable, creating a clear path for us toward greater calmness, strength, and clarity. Over and over I have personally witnessed, both in myself and in my students, the breath's clear potential to heal and deeply transform lives. I truly believe that in the future such practices will play an important role as a medicine for preventing and treating physical, emotional, and mental maladies. I am glad that Geshe YongDong is making these practices widely available, and I'm sure that by doing so, he is bringing benefit to countless lives"--

Drawn from contributions from the 8th International Bion Conference in 2014, the book examines how "O" can be experienced in all aspects of internal and external reality and within all relationships, from an individual relating to the mother to their emotional relationship with their self. It features insights into "O" drawn from the area of faith as well as its manifestations in clinical practice, while also included is a chapter exploring the links between Bion’s ideas and those of Winnicott, Lacan, Green and Freud. Featuring contributions from some of the world’s leading Bion scholars, this will be essential reading for any psychoanalyst interested in exploring the concept of "O", as well as scholars in philosophy and theology.

An esteemed modern Tibetan Buddhist teacher presents a system of meditation instructions designed for achieving relaxation in our stressful, fast-paced world In the late 1990s, shortly after arriving in the United States, it became clear to Dza Kilung Rinpoche that his Western students responded to traditional meditation instructions differently from his students back in Asia. The Westerners didn't know how to relax—and their pressured, fast-paced lifestyles carried over into meditation. With this in mind, Dza Kilung Rinpoche set out to create a meditation system that could break through the noise of Western life. The Relaxed Mind contains instructions for the seven-phase practice that he developed for students in the West. It is adapted from traditional instructions to counteract the overwhelming distraction that is becoming a global culture these days, not only in the West. Beginners will find a wealth of useful, easy-to-understand information while more experienced meditators may be surprised to find their practice deepening through letting go of tension.
