A educação escolar é uma área dinâmica que está em constante transformação dos processos de organização, pois, a cada ano, estudantes ingressam e concluem sua etapa de formação. Os índices de evasão e de abandono escolar são preocupantes em todo o Brasil e geram atenção para a garantia do direito à educação. O interesse pela temática do abandono e da evasão escolar foi despertado no ano de 2020, por meio da mídia que abordava, frequentemente, a gravidade dos referidos fenômenos e as taxas elevadas com o advento da covid-19, e destacava que, antes mesmo da pandemia, já trazia grande preocupação à sociedade. Assim, dada a relevância social bem como a compreensão de que não podemos mais continuar assistindo, conformados, à permanência e à evolução desse problema, é fundamental a interação e a cooperação entre os atores envolvidos na problemática do abandono e da evasão escolar, a fim de agirem de forma proativa e planejada, na certeza de que esforços isolados não produzirão os resultados desejados, uma vez que tais fenômenos são complexos e, portanto, necessitam de um olhar e de iniciativas mais abrangentes para minimizar os seus efeitos danosos à sociedade. Diante disso, entendemos ser de grande valia para a educação a criação da Tecnologia Social de Acompanhamento (TECACOMP), pois propiciará o fortalecimento das políticas educacionais em benefício da permanência dos alunos na escola.
