Fuelled by methamphetamines and deviant motives, nothing was off limits for James Daveggio and Michelle Michaud. Not even their own children. Living out of a specially rigged minivan (a mobile torture chamber that included ropes, hooks, curling irons, duct tape, etc), this cold-blooded murdering duo kidnapped, tortured, raped and killed young girls from Reno, Nevada, to Sacramento, California. While the local and state police departments, and even the FBI, vigorously searched for the couple, they freely hunted for prey and carried out their months-long spree of abduction and murder. Warning: This true account is at times quite graphic which some may find disturbing.

This early work by S. S. Van Dine was originally published in 1936 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introduction. 'The Kidnap Murder Case' is one of Van Dine's novels of crime and mystery. S. S. Van Dine was born Willard Huntington Wright in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1888. He attended St. Vincent College, Pomona College and Harvard University, but failed to graduate, leaving to cultivate contacts he had made in the literary world. At the age of twenty-one, Wright began his professional writing career as literary editor of the Los Angeles Times. In 1926, Wright published his first S. S. Van Dine novel, The Benson Murder Case. Wright went on to write eleven more mysteries. The first few books about his upper-class amateur sleuth, Philo Vance, were so popular that Wright became wealthy for the first time in his life. His later books declined in popularity as the reading public's tastes in mystery fiction changed, but during the late twenties and early thirties his work was very successful.

This new Van Dine kidnap-murder case deals with two of the most unusual crimes in the whole record of Philo Vance's criminological researches. Kasper Kenting, a playboy and ne'er-do-well, disappears from his ancestral home, the 'Purple House,' in West 86th Street, with all the indications pointing to a kidnapping. Both District Attorney John F.-X, Markham and Sergeant Ernest Heath of the Homicide Bureau participate, with Philo Vance, in the exciting investigation. In The Kidnap Murder Case Philo Vance runs into the gravest personal danger, and it is through the accuracy of his aim, at the crucial moment, that he saves Sergeant Heath's life as well as his own. The locale of this amazing crime shifts from one of the most fascinating residential landmarks in mid-town Manhattan to a sordid and obscure hovel on the upper east side. The account moves with arresting swiftness to a dramatic climax and will appeal even to those readers who heretofore have not been especially interested in this type of fiction

Deadly Duos written by Paul Roland and has been published by Arcturus Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-06-15 with True Crime categories.

A California couple abduct, sexually abuse and torture teenage girls in the back of their customized minivan while their own daughter watches. An odd couple play 'make-up' with the severed head of their latest victim. Two wealthy University graduates team up to slaughter strangers and then escape justice because their crimes seem too unbelievable to be true. Serial killers and sadistic sex murderers are, by nature, solitary predators who keep their sordid secret to themselves. So what makes such seemingly ordinary individuals hunt together, feeding off each other's addiction to cruelty? Is it a power trip? Do they need the approval of an admiring partner? Or is it just tainted love spiraling out of control? An increasing number of brutal crimes are being perpetrated by two or more individuals acting in tandem. Together they are twice as dangerous, twice as deadly. By working together one can cover the other's tracks, subdue their struggling victims and make the disposal of bodies even easier.. Author Paul Roland focuses on some of the most horrible crimes ever committed by couples and presents a carefully chosen selection of their stories. These illustrated case-studies are viewed with an unflinching gaze, making for a chilling yet engrossing read.
