Written to support courses that focus on short-term financial management, working capital, and treasury management, the newly revised fifth edition of Short-Term Financial Management provides a comprehensive overview of vital topics within the discipline of corporate finance. The opening chapter provides a review of time value of money applied to short-term cash flows, as well as the basics of financial statement analysis, highlighting the calculation of operating cash flow. This edition emphasizes benchmarking the cash conversion cycle and the cycle's connection to firm value. It features a revised discussion of bank relationship management and expansion of content on account analysis statements. There is new material on float neutrality and the application of statistical tools through the use of Excel. The chapters on short-term investing and borrowing are revised to emphasize the calculation and interpretation of yields and borrowing costs. Throughout, "Focus on Practice" sections introduce students to real-world articles and case studies. New "Test Your Understanding" boxes reinforce critical topics from select chapters, and enhanced end-of-chapter problems encourage critical thinking. Introducing many of the topics covered by the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification, Short-Term Financial Management is suitable for courses in intermediate financial management and advanced corporate finance.

The Danube-Oder-Elbe Canal promised to create an integrated waterway system across Europe, linking Black Sea ports to Atlantic markets and giving landlocked Czech nation its own connections to the ocean. The fascinating history of this never-completed project, European Coasts of Bohemia tells the story of the experts who confronted and contributed to different and often conflicting geopolitical visions of Europe. Jíra Janác shows how the canal-backers adapted themselves to various political developments, such as the break-up of the Austrian–Hungarian Empire and the integration into the Soviet Bloc, while still managing to keep the canal project alive.

Advances In Behavioral Economics written by Colin F. Camerer and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-12-12 with Business & Economics categories.

Twenty years ago, behavioral economics did not exist as a field. Most economists were deeply skeptical--even antagonistic--toward the idea of importing insights from psychology into their field. Today, behavioral economics has become virtually mainstream. It is well represented in prominent journals and top economics departments, and behavioral economists, including several contributors to this volume, have garnered some of the most prestigious awards in the profession. This book assembles the most important papers on behavioral economics published since around 1990. Among the 25 articles are many that update and extend earlier foundational contributions, as well as cutting-edge papers that break new theoretical and empirical ground. Advances in Behavioral Economics will serve as the definitive one-volume resource for those who want to familiarize themselves with the new field or keep up-to-date with the latest developments. It will not only be a core text for students, but will be consulted widely by professional economists, as well as psychologists and social scientists with an interest in how behavioral insights are being applied in economics. The articles, which follow Colin Camerer and George Loewenstein's introduction, are by the editors, George A. Akerlof, Linda Babcock, Shlomo Benartzi, Vincent P. Crawford, Peter Diamond, Ernst Fehr, Robert H. Frank, Shane Frederick, Simon Gächter, David Genesove, Itzhak Gilboa, Uri Gneezy, Robert M. Hutchens, Daniel Kahneman, Jack L. Knetsch, David Laibson, Christopher Mayer, Terrance Odean, Ted O'Donoghue, Aldo Rustichini, David Schmeidler, Klaus M. Schmidt, Eldar Shafir, Hersh M. Shefrin, Chris Starmer, Richard H. Thaler, Amos Tversky, and Janet L. Yellen.

Three Decades Of Transformation In The East Central European Countryside written by Jerzy Bański and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-09-05 with Social Science categories.

This book identifies, diagnoses and evaluates social and economic processes taking place in the rural areas of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) states in the last 25 years and affecting the immediate future, with a particular focus on their spatial diversity. It addresses questions related to the rationality of the current development policy and possible results in the future. Contemporary processes of socio-economic development are typified by the fact that spatial and regional disparities are tending to increase. This unfavourable phenomenon manifested both in society and in terms of polarised space needs to be counteracted using an effective development policy. The book highlights issues concerning demography, functional structure and non-agricultural activity, and identifies new challenges arising from membership of the European Union (EU). Accession to the EU and the opportunity to implement support measures has further increased the dynamism of transformation – a process that proceeded under various scenarios and different regulations and assumptions that have yet to be identified and evaluated. Furthermore, the current internal policies of individual CEE states concerning rural areas are diverse and likely to affect differential future development. The book is based on the knowledge and experience of scientists from countries in the region investigated, who have the best understanding of the subject matter and have observed the transformations. It is intended for researchers exploring the development of the countryside and practitioners dealing with regional and national development policies targeting rural areas.
