Dans le cadre de la pose d'une prothèse amovible complète (PAC) bimaxillaire, un chirurgien dentiste peut se heurter à la nécessité de réaliser une chirurgie préprothétique. Elle est définie comme étant une chirurgie plastique qui a pour objectif de modifier l'architecture de l'ensemble des tissus buccaux afin d'améliorer les conditions de pose des futures prothèses dentaires. Le but de ce travail est d'étudier et d'exposer les différentes techniques de chirurgie pré-prothétique ainsi que de répondre aux questions qu'un praticien peut se poser concernant la nécessité et la réalisation d'une éventuelle chirurgie antérieure à la pose d'une prothèse complète bimaxillaire.
